Ok so just to let yo uknow I started recording stuff for this about a year ago....

Still need to bring eveyrthing together for a 20 song 7" but it pretty much their just guitars to do....
But anyway there'll be a song on the comp with the nmext rippin thrash zine, a download/tape comp (fuck scion) and track for a benefit comp (animal sanctuary in portland)

Quite liking the new record.

I've seen a date in Canterbury in October - any one else aware of any other dates so far, or putting them on? I heard that they were asking for quite a lot from promoters, but the Canterbury show is £12, which doesn't seem overly expensive...

Apologies for me starting yet another "lets talk about" thread but the others haven't seemed to do too bad thus far.

The sun's been shining and its that time of the year where i start to ride the "long way home" after work. There is not much more i like more than riding through woods and quiet long empty roads listening to a bit of ye olde timer music.

Currently ive been listening to a Clarence "tom" Ashley collection called Greenback Dollar(1929-22)

This song is a classic and so beautiful.I can't get enough of it at the moment.

I am really out of touch and have forgottten most of the names of people i used to listen too. Any other suggestions or videos posts would be appreciated. Do you know of any good compilations with more unknown artists? i know fat possum came out with an amazing collection a few years ago called The George Mitchell Collection.

This track was definitely a stand out for me. Any other spoon players like this that you know of?

For some reason these came back to me the other day - a comedy h/c band, note perfect satire on the po-faced zen fascist straight edge scene. Anyone else remember them? Think their tagline was "be straight, bench a weight, don't be late, and please, please, don't masturbate". Genius.

That's about all I remember though. That and something about Mr T. Anybody know anything more - if they went on to do anything else / were a side project etc?

what a label. doesn't get the respect it deserves.

saw a documentary a few years ago (i think Yorkie was there?) about SFTRI but it seemed to be more about his current vinyl toy obsession/business.

anyway, you can't go wrong with releasing stuff like RFTC, Spacemen 3, Skullflower, Man Or Astroman, Ramleh, Teengenerate, Thee Headcoats, Trumans Water, Turbonegro, Smegma, New Bomb Turks etc etc.

total wide range of stuff but all having a kind of raw, primal thing linking them all together.
