don't know what the score is down in englund

Re: Spotify

You can search by label now by using "label:*".

It doesn't seem to work too well though as I searched SST and it returned nothing.

Re: Spotify

Re: Spotify

Spotify rules.

Perfect for those tunes you like/want to listen to sometime but don't need on vinyl.

Like Ne-yo

Re: Spotify

the thing that bugged me with spotify is that it won't do a good job of recommending you anything. however, if you also use last.fm, try this:

http://lutt.se/lastfm+spotify+new/index.php

not perfect - seems mostly to list stuff i already have in mp3 form - but not bad and better than anything spotify does.

Re: Spotify

pretty cool!

same here, if anyone has a spare.

edit: scrap that. it's Windows/Mac only.

Re: Spotify

www.grooveshark.com - no adverts, nothing to download, no invitation required. Might not be as comprehensive as spotify but i'd recommend trying it

I've been running it under wine no problems, they even tell you how to do it on the official FAQ: http://www.spotify.com/en/help/faq/wine/

Assuming that you want to run it on Linux that is, not AmigaOS or something.

Re: Spotify

here's something else that can help spotify find stuff you want to hear:

Re: Spotify

Add me or send me songs or something yeah?

I have a bunch of invites also, should anybody need one.

Re: Spotify

Can you send me one? I swear it used to work for me without one but it doesn't now I've re-installed it.

Re: Spotify

It tells me you already have an account registered and don't need an invite! Tried hitting "forgot password or username"?

Re: Spotify

This thread is fun to look back on.

What's everyone's opinion of Spotify now?

Re: Spotify

i feel bad because it's terrible at paying artists but at the same time, it's the main way i listen to music now :-/

Re: Spotify

Have always found the user interface annoying but back then I was sold. The developers were throwing about lots of rhetoric about altruism and supporting artists. Within eighteen months they had Coke sponsorship deals...

Don't really need it. I still download music and there are lots of great places to acquire or buy mp3s from or just listen to stuff.

Re: Spotify

I prefer bandcamp, or you tube for more mainstream stuff, easier to use and can usually find what I want with no adverts.

Re: Spotify

it's cool to check stuff out but I usually get bored of the ads pretty soon.

Great for playlists made by actual people for certain mood / genera

I still prefer downloading and paying for records, while using an mp3 player with a much better sound than my phone.

Will probably pay when I have a steady job and a great sounding phone. Maybe.

Re: Spotify

i pay for the middle level option (4.99) which gets rid of ads on computer but not on the phone. which is fine as i tend to not use my phone for music anyway.
