Topic: Royal Headache

I really like these guys and I recommend their 7":

Really fun sloppy garage pop punk stuff. Slight Marked Men feel to some of it although that might just be me.

Footage of them playing in some record shop:

Re: Royal Headache

Great review of this!

http://www.collective-zine.co.uk/reviews/?id=7558

Also I messaged them on myspace and their newest tour tape is sold out. Long shot but if anyone has it and could rip it i'd be eternally grateful and would send you £poems.

Re: Royal Headache

Re: Royal Headache

the 7" is brilliant - listen to it again Darren!

I saw them last month and they were fantastic. Best band I've seen since I moved to Australia.  I have the tape, but unfortunately no means to rip to an electronic format sad

Re: Royal Headache

Great 7"....is there an Eddy Current connection??

Also about ECSR connections...
the new/first Boomgates 7" is fantastic.

Re: Royal Headache

Royal Headache are terrific. Although they have played many shows with Eddy Current there is no direct sharing of Members. Eucalypt on the other hand...

Re: Royal Headache

someone from Eucalypt is in Eddy Current? wink

Re: Royal Headache

great band.

Personally loved the ep...and the lp is pretty much more of the same...im not a modern garage fan but thankfully these lot know their roots when it comes to the sound.

didn't like the 7" at all...

you said that further up the thread already.

the 7" was great. Production is tidier on the lp (which was a lot of folks complaint about the 7" - personally I loved it) but it's still rough. If you didn't like the 7" Ralf, I wouldn't bother with the lp, but it's your loss because it's cracking.

Re: Royal Headache

No i didn't, at first i said:

just got the e.p. but didn't do much for me i'm afraid

& then i went away and played it quite a few more times and said:

didn't like the 7" at all...

NOT the same.

Re: Royal Headache

the lp is the first stuff i had heard by them, it's super good. maybe a bit generic but the songs are so well written that it makes no odds.
