Topic: component parts for DIY amps/effects pedals.

wondering if anyone here builds their own amps/effects pedals. I'd like to try and make a pedal, and have grand ideas about making a cab (or at the very least wiring speakers into an empty one) and was wondering if anyone can recommend any websites for component parts? I've found this place that looks promising... http://www.radioshackuk.co.uk/.

hi,

I too have similar inclinations (pedals really), but I have totally no soldering/electronics experience so i thought i'd get a simple pedal kit to start me off.  maybe from: http://www.vibe-o-tronic.co.uk/products … amp;type=1

or possibly these look nice:http://diypedalkits.com/

anybody got any experience with the above, is this the best way to go for a complete novice?  Also, what's the best way to practice soldering, was probably going to get an old cd player or something out the loft and bust that open.

thanks!

i've heard good things because not only do they provide full kits (and some hints as to what you can change/mod), they also give full instructions on how to make the kits. been meaning to order a fuzz pedal kit from them for a while.
they also have an amp kit which is interesting though im not sure what youd have to do to get it to work in the UK plug wise.
if you use them be sure to let me know how it turns out!

yeah, that vibe-o-tronic link is basically the UK distributor for BYOC.  perhaps, you could contact them about your amp enquires.  sure, i will update if i get anything.
