Topic: jangly/poppy/punky girl bands

i was passing the time at work last night listening to music from (mostly) 1980's era girl groups and it got me wanting to discover a few more. so if i stick a few of my favourite songs of that type in this thread hopefully it'll lead to me being introduced to some decent stuff that i've missed. any era will do.

here's some that i love.....

Yep, AISLERS SET & GO SAILOR are particularly ace!

You Wanna Buy The WHOLE IN THE HEAD Single, Or CONSTANT STATE OF TERROR, But They're Not Pressed In Red, So You Buy FUCKED UP Instead.

Re: jangly/poppy/punky girl bands

only a female vocalist on this but worth inclusion

BLACK TAMBOURINE - throw aggi off the bridge

Re: jangly/poppy/punky girl bands

I was very happy to finally see Go Sailor last year!
I heard Joanna Gruesome for the first time on the radio this morning. I thought it was an old '80s band first - decent stuff.

Speaking of Black Tambourine - check out The Pines - same singer, with a bloke playing an acoustic (and sharing vocals on occasion). They also played the Go Sailor gig. Nice.
Here's a particularly delectable tune:

I like music.
