yup. going strong by the look of the pics i saw from Record Store Day.

...tis all in peeces, all cohaerence gone...

Re: Birmingham (/West Midlands)

Good to know. Remember putting a fair amount of money that boy's way back in the day. Tempest had just closed and he'd just moved to oasis when I left brum. Hoped he'd keep going smile

So... as far as decent venues go, Bull's Head Moseley High Street, Flapper (still) and Wagon and Horses Digbeth then. Anywhere else?

Can anyone recommend somewhere in Birmingham for decent, civilised late night drinking? Preferably not some heavy metal dive... Cheers!

-  the victoria is great IF it's quiet

-  the sunflower lounge is nice with a well stocked bar (fridays can be a bit manic)

-  the lost and found (on bennetts hill very nice but a little pricey)

-  brewdog (if you buy into that, some people aren't too keen)

-  bacchus bar is a good call as well but has a post-work rush as its near new street stations new main doors

Re: Birmingham (/West Midlands)

Cheers, any of them open 12-4am kinda times?
Last time we went we ended up in some sketchy pub that was turned into a club till about 6am, but noone can remember what it was called...

Hello West Midlands people. I'm looking to sort a show for California X (californiax.bandcamp.com) on 31st August. They just need whatever petrol money you can sort them, some food and a place to crash. They'll have backline and big riffs. Any takers? Have tried Wolf Town, Chaz Hewitt, Dave Grieg (blastbeatsfakemeats) and George Hart. Does anyone know anybody apart from that lot that could help them out? Brum or anywhere midlands.

Sorry LYFDTW!Z, I quoted you to ask whether Wolf Town DIY and Distorted Tapes is the same people.

Re: Birmingham (/West Midlands)

also in case anyone isn't aware / is interested a new record store has opened called 'Milque & Muhle', here's what their website says about them......

Milque & Muhle is an independent record shop based in Eastside Birmingham’s Custard Factory. Coming from a combination of music and art backgrounds Milque & Muhle is the creation of Nathan Warner and Ellena Donlon starting it’s life back in May 2013 due to launch mid-September 2013. Recognising that Birmingham demands a unique outlet for music; they hope to become a place where Birmingham folk can find rare material and discover the new.

Milque & Muhle serves as a shop which not only provides adventurous, underground vinyl and cassette, you will also find music fanzines, comics, presses and occasional art prints; with due course Milque & Muhle intend to curate local gigs and music/art based events targeted towards adventurous and curious audiences within Birmingham.
