Re: Electronic Music

Luke Abbot's new LP is on my wishlist at Norman, will keep my eye out for the LP you've mentioned.

I've got Geogaddi, your tip will make sure I grab more of their stuff. Will check out that BFD EP as well.

Thanks.

John Carpenter's new album is splendid - https://johncarpentermusic.bandcamp.com … ost-themes

not a million miles from his OST stuff.

Re: Electronic Music

didn't actually realise at first that kiasmos was an olafur arnalds thing, but so it is and whether you care about that or not the album is very very good. here's a nice performance:

Holly Herndon's new album sounds like it's going to be good - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ybzSWlpgJOA

on 4AD as well. nice to see her stuff on a bigger label. easily doing some of the most interesting things in electronic music at the moment I reckon.

this Nidia Minaj stuff is decent. weird but good mix of standard bass/grime things and various African styles.

Re: Electronic Music

i've been listening to this yamaneko mix pretty much every day lately: https://soundcloud.com/yamaneko/nautilus-dawn

it's subsequently turned me on to hiroshi yoshimura which is this great ambient/new age stuff. most of the records are super expensive now, but you can find three of them on the root strata blog here: http://rootstrata.com/rootblog/?s=hiroshi+yoshimura

this second one is my favourite so far:

i also love this suzanne ciani track which is in the mix too:

There's a new EP coming on Steel67 soon. Sounds pretty good!

Re: Electronic Music

This one by Roberto Cacciapaglia:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hNiJHsbhlXo

one of my favorite albums ever

for ambient chill electro early Styrofoam was really good (and many other artists on morrrrr such as Isan, check out albumtitletrack "meet next life" if you want to space out)

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nL0k9uG-7hQ

Experimental but not too experimental electro / ambient with white noise (i suck at describing music), this album by Dirk Serries (a colab with another dude) is really good

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9bCPU305vpE

folky experimental electro... anything by Andrew Chalk basically..

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFgDqQQzmfs

This guy puts out two albums a year, all good. Highly recommended to buy his stuff instead of getting mp3s , he makes sure the artwork is topnotch and worth it!

Nicolaas Jaar - space is only noise and the re-issue of Have A Nice Life - Deathconsciousness , are both recent good stuff in this genre.

Sorry if some has been recommended in this thread, will check it out now, love chill electro/ambient so pretty sure there will be good stuff here. Bahbumppppp

Re: Electronic Music

One of my albums of the year so far is Romantic Psychology 1 by Levantis: https://soundcloud.com/technicolour-mus … psychology

It's a side-project by the fella who does Actress. There's almost an Afrobeat feel to it. Also on that tip, Circuitous by Afrikan Sciences is pretty good too.

Re: Electronic Music

Bloody hell. Anyone heard the new Autechre album - Elseq 1-5?

It's four hours long!

Like al Autechre it straddles that odd point between being completely immersive and strangely passive. Not sure anyone needs that much avant-IDM but it's quite good of a Sunday afternoon.

Re: Electronic Music

Really enjoying the new album by these guys:

Re: Electronic Music

Really into Bjarki lately. Found him on the new трип comp When I Was 14 (which is probably most notable for having an Aphex Twin - as AFK, so more punishing than his Aphex stuff) - the whole comp is pretty solid but Bjarki and Nina Kraviz stand out. Bjarki's just released an LP on трип too.

Opal Tapes (run by Bish from Drunk in Hell) is still smashing it - Bem Inventory by Patricia and The First Step by Russell EL Butler are among the best things Opal have done to date.

Re: Electronic Music

Really dig the new Wen EP on Big Dada: http://bigdada.com/release/wen/carve-and-gaze

Wave Force, the new 12" from Daywalker + CF is class. Pulsing kinda house-y, kinda electro-y techno. All their 12"s to date have been bangers. This one is on Daywalker (also records as Entro Senestre)'s Bank Records NYC label, which is one of my favourite labels currently: https://bank.bandcamp.com/album/wave-force

Speaking of favourite labels, Wisdom Teeth have just put out a new 12" by Duckett. Ambient techno, slightly electro tinged. https://soundcloud.com/stampthewax/duck … w-premiere Wisdom Teeth's On Live Vol 1 comp is worth checking out for the Simo Cell track alone.
