Eyedea is an all time favourite of mine too. Abbie, did you ever check out "Flowers for my Father" by Sadistik? has quite a touching tribute to Eyedea on it.

I did. I thought Micheal was a great track, but overall FFMF was a really weak record, especially following The Balancing Act.

I liked it as a whole, but the Cage guest spot was pretty awful.

Hello, how are you today?

If you like Kronstadt, Ⓐ☭-type hip-hop,

QELD - The Ramblers.

Class war, keep the peace at bay

QELD, "We ain’t the least afraid"

You got rights, but Theresa-may
take ‘em each away

please note that i am the last person you should turn to when it comes to hip hop recommendations, i mean, i fucking love the promise ring, but this lp is really doing it for me

makes me wish it was 30 degrees out, the middle of june, i had all the windows open, and was 5 deep in a 6 pack of IPA

What's good?! Since summer is here.

Only things i've really liked this year are 808 and Dark Grapes III and the new Vince Staples album, which is amazing.

i recreated the above last night and yes, it is the ideal listening environment for sour soul however the warm, windowless office is not the ideal environment for having drank a 6 pack of IPA the night before...

Re: Good Hip-hop???

so radio france apparently have this huge archive of records and they occasionally invite artists to dig through them and talk about some of their favourites. the madlib one is particularly interesting.

it has a few things you’d probably expect (sun ra, quasimoto, j dilla), but some of the other choices are kinda leftfield. there’s an obscure french jazz fusion band called chute libre, some 1970s prog/krautrock from embryo, and even an alain goraguer track who did the soundtrack for la planete sauvage.

all of the songs are listed at the end and they make for a pretty cool spotify playlist.

Re: Good Hip-hop???

Really enjoying Headnod Suite by Karriem Riggins. It's probably my album of the year so far. His older stuff (Alone/Together) is great too. Instrumental hip-hop but with a really nice jazz edge to it.

J-Zone's last album (Fish N Grits) is excellent too.
