Re: Thrash Metal

xentrix - shattered existance
nuclear assault - survive

"Back when I was a teenager, just starting to think for myself, I came up with a very basic formulation. I decided that when anyone says, You're either for us or against us, you HAD to be against them. Because only moral simpletons and outright conniving rogues see, or even claim to see, the world in such preposterously black and white terms."

Re: Thrash Metal

i'm in a thrash mood today - death angel and voivod anyway.

I've been listening to bits of newer bands, but it sounds so slick and over produced, and also a little bit contrived. I dunno if I'm listening to the wrong stuff.

Definitely the 'wrong stuff'. Some good ones mentioned already. I endorse the following:

Dark Angel - Darkness Descends
Violence - Eternal Nightmare
Exodus - Bonded By Blood
Suicidal Tendencies - How Could I Laugh...
Forbidden - Forbidden Evil
Kreator - Pleasure to Kill
Sepultura - Beneath the Remains
Sabbat - History of a Time to Come
Sodom - Persecution Mania
Tankard - The Morning After
Nuclear Assault - Game Over
Exhorder - Slaughter in the Vatican
Morbid Saint - Spectrum of Death

That's the stuff you want right there! Before I started to venture out to different music I pretty much went through my teenage years addicted to Thrash. Spectrum of Death is one of my favorite Metal albums so many awesome riffs in it, their follow up Demo/Album "Destruction System" is awesome too just a shame about the production for it.

Few additions.

Gammacide - Victims of Science - Got to be the best hidden gem when it comes to Thrash
Sadus - Illusions/Chemical Exposure

Re: Thrash Metal

I never know if it's Thrash Metal or Speed Metal but I love all these newish bands like Antichrist, Ranger, etc...

and some pure early Slayer worship

Thanks for the recommendation! Really enjoying Ranger's new LP - perfect blend of the metal styles I love but retaining the fun as well:
