Topic: RAMMEL CLUB - Massicot, Rattle, Negative Midas Touch. Mon 22/8. Nottm
Harbinger Sound and Rammel Club present:
With the agressiveness of a tiger in Formica, Massicot oscillates between frank and noisy moments and hypnotic, repetitive phases.
An obsessive, rythmic guitar, a modeled bass, a violin as an free electron, tropical kraut drums led by latvian poetry form a mass, a constellation of electrical dinosaurs, imported pineapples, cloud-drawings, intricate rhythms and Dada-jokes.
Nottingham based duo Rattle focus almost exclusively on drums and more drums, beneath a delicate overlay of vocal harmonies and percussive effects. Formed by Katharine Eira Brown (also of Kogumaza) and Theresa Wrigley (also of Fists), Rattle began as an experiment in crafting rich songs and melody using drums and voice alone. Their music weaves and intertwines post-punk, minimalism and experimental rock, through off-kilter rhythms, patterns and counter melodies. Their live performances are at once hypnotic, monastic and danceable, entrancing audiences in the UK and Europe during a short tour with Zea.
