Re: Random / obscure 90s emo bands

No mention on CZ of the band Dies Irae - downloaded some MP3s a while ago based on the description and just listening to them now - good stuff! Definite Still Life vibe, mixed with other influences.

Dies Irae had a short but intense career, like their dramatic, extremely epic emocore inspired in classic emo bands such as Still Life, Serene, Merel or Rites of Spring. Several years later, singer Joel Rojas formed current and successful post-punk band It’s not not along with members of Standstill and Tokyo Sex Destruction.

Re: Random / obscure 90s emo bands

You are always putting these bands down - this is seriously great in my opinion!

Re: Random / obscure 90s emo bands

i just didn't rate them, sorry man! european emo bands of that time tended to suck.

Re: Random / obscure 90s emo bands

Was recommended another Spanish emo band from the 90s called Leaf. I am giving them a decent listen right now and it's growing on me - decent stuff. Not essential but some of you might like it...

Tokyo Sex Destruction.

Ha, have an album of theirs somewhere - you're the first person I've ever heard mention them since I bought it, ha ha! Pretty good, just sounds like The Make-Up/Nation Of Ulysses though.

Putting the chat amongst the pigeons.

Talking of Bcore, I remember really digging that Cobalt CD - Codeine / Low flavoured stuff. Did they ever do anything else?

Re: Random / obscure 90s emo bands

Because of Lauren Hospital: A bandmember is giving away the one 7" for shipping costs: http://www.last.fm/music/Lauren+Hospital
