Re: Black Metal

I can't be reading 12 pages of this - has there been any mention of Thy Light, Happy Days, Make A Change ... Kill Yourself, or any DSBM in general?

I make ambient music as sauvez-moi.

Re: Black Metal

Make a change have been mentioned - you should delve in.

Haven't heard much new stuff recently but have been absolutely loving Bolzer since a pal put them on my birthday mixtape.

Re: Black Metal

I really enjoyed Black Shoals when I saw them, they sounded absolutely huge.
I like th EP quite a lot too but it's not a patch on seeing them live.

Re: Black Metal

Been enjoying the Dead In The Manger stuff lately. Good bleak vibes.

Re: Black Metal

probably not even BM anymore, but hats off to Dodheimsgard for their latest effort - some great jazz fusion passages and bonkers epics

Re: Black Metal

I agree with Bolzer. I've been listening to a US/German band called Arthedain, who're definitely worth a listen. Nordland and Cold Fell, both UK based. Also stuff from Nuclear War Now! and Iron Bonehead/Invictus Productions always goes down well.

Re: Black Metal

The Emperor cover of 'A Fine Day to Die'

That pretty much encapsulates black metal for me...

Re: Black Metal

I've been listening to some great low fi black metal infused hardcore from the likes of Bone Awl & Raspberry Bulbs. Does anyone well versed in the genre have any more recommendations for similar stuff?

Re: Black Metal

Anyone know where I can pick up a copy of the Cold Fell demo tape apart from Mordgrimm?

Re: Black Metal

Really liking Akhlys - The Dreaming I. My favourite metal album of the year so far.

There was a rash of amazing slightly arty BM last year: Thantifaxath, Hexis, Sun Worship, The great old ones; and particularly Plebeian Grandstand.

If you want something that will really hurt your head try Jute Gyte - Ressentiment.
