Topic: Dazzling Killmen

Listening to 'Face of Collapse' for the first time in yonks. Bloody stonking. That is all

p.s Sicbay split up. Bummer.

Unbelievable. And very brave.

Re: Dazzling Killmen

using gay to describe some novelty christmas cards is just so fucking ignorant

Re: Dazzling Killmen

it's been a while. are any Dazzling Killmen folk doing anything currently?

also:

Re: Dazzling Killmen

that vid is incredible!

sicbay also pretty good. as well as colossamite! didnt they share the singer ??

Re: Dazzling Killmen

that's pretty emo.

Re: Dazzling Killmen

Never heard this before. Really good.

Re: Dazzling Killmen

Yeah Nick Sakes singer/guitar in Killmen/Collasamite/Sicbay. I know the drummer played in Laddio Bolocko, not sure what they're up to these days?

Re: Dazzling Killmen

The drummer ended up in Mars Volta, where great drummers go to die.

Unbelievable. And very brave.

Re: Dazzling Killmen

Great band. I'm in need of a vinyl copy of 'Dig Out The Switch'.

I have that. No good for you, of course, but just thought I'd mention it! Great LP.

Re: Dazzling Killmen

been listening to Overreaction Time by Sicbay over and over and over. Amazing.

has anyone seen hide or hair of their last album Suspicious Icons?

Re: Dazzling Killmen

found Suspicious Icons on a blog. listened to it a few times. it's good but also slightly odd. not as wild sounding. more kind of minimal Wire type stuff. naturally it's worth trying.

also, here's a rather nifty Dazzling Killmen liveset - http://www.punkvinyl.com/2010/11/13/daz … lounge-ax/

Re: Dazzling Killmen

Nick Sakes has a new band going called XADDAX

Re: Dazzling Killmen

"like"

listening to their recordings on soundcloud right this very second. in a similar vein to his previous bands. approved.

Re: Dazzling Killmen

Jeez, this is fucking awesome.

Re: Dazzling Killmen

One of the best bands ever. That Xaddax stuff is really good too - cheers for the tip Kunal. Almost as scathing as some of the Killmen stuff.

Re: Dazzling Killmen

Nick Sakes is the fucking truth. awhile back i was trying to find what bands he was currently in (great shout on Xaddax, btw ! - first time i've heard it), and came across his Twitter which had a reference to Alan Partridge ("wings - only the band the beatles could've been") which made me like him even more.

Sicbay's rad, too, but for sheer intensity Dazzling Killmen were in a league of their own.

http://candycutter.bandcamp.com/ - west country. stephen gately. early 90's.

Re: Dazzling Killmen

been listening to Sicbay quite a lot recently (stupidly i missed them at the time). surprised how kind of punk-y it sounds. kind of less bass-y nonmeansno/minutemen

Re: Dazzling Killmen

one of my favorite bands growing up. listened the shit out of "Face of Collapse" and "Dig Out the Switch" in 1994/95. haven't really revisited since, but would probably pick up the vinyl if i ever stumbled over it, purely out of nostalgia.

Re: Dazzling Killmen

listening the the XADDAX LP now. great stuff. they mentioned a visit to the UK might be on the cards

Why did no one tell me about this amazing release from 15 years ago? So good! Are their later albums as good too?
