how much did they charge you?

when i decided to get my pokeball i went there and they said it'd be £90. i asked them if they were joking, and they laughed at me and said that's how much tattoos cost (i had all mine covered up so they probably thought i didn't know how much tattoos cost).

i went to house of pain and got it done for £30, and vowed never to go to sacred art for anything, and to tell everyone else not to go there too.

Re: Tattoos

90 quid is a pretty standard basic rate these days.

Re: Tattoos

it was really fucking tiny. believe me, it wasn't worth anywhere near that.

mm, cost £90 for both mine. I thought it was worth it, but then I dont really have any point of reference!

Re: Tattoos

i know some very good (internationally-known) tattoo artists based in hong kong who charge the equivalent of 100-120 british pounds per hour (design / consultation free - charge only starts when the stencil touches the skin). from my understanding, that's quite standard for similar artists around the world, give or take the cost of living in certain countries.

Re: Tattoos

running a tattoo studio isn't cheap. artists have to factor in all sorts of costs, if it isn't their shop, part of that £90 is going straight to the owner for chair hire.

Personally, I'd probably be a bit suspect about anyone charging less than about 60 bucks for anything.

Re: Tattoos

I got this one done back in Oct last year at Myles Karr's in Brooklyn but totally forgot about this thread.

If that is indeed yours, then you are the epitome of cool (until leocrusher gets his pokemon/dinosaur tattoo at least). However considering my much feted gullability I await independant verification, or a context photo..

Hi Mike,
At first sight I thought it was your shoulder smile
I don't have any tattoo engraved because I heard about pain and blood secretion while making tattoo on your skin.

Anyone visiting the London Tattoo Convention over the weekend? I'll be there Friday and Saturday. Well looking forward to it.

Re: Tattoos

I'm there on Friday.

Getting a piece done by Piotrek Taton. Ridiculously excited!
