I'm vegan, I have tattoos. I also drive a car, use a computer, have a film camera and listen to vinyl.
Ok don't fall off that high horse... I'm not trying to be some kinda fundamentalist! I've just heard they use animal products in tattoo ink, I'd rather not have animal products in my skin really.
I wasn't having a go, just making a point. I'm not really a high-horse kind of person! I'd rather not have animal products on my skin either but then I don't want to sacrifice the quality of a tattoo by only using artists who use vegan ink. I think these days almost all ink is synthetic anyway.
Sorry yeah I wasn't having a go either! Just wanted to see if there are any vegan alternatives coz I'd rather be as Animal-Free as possible, like Remi said it's impossible to be 100% animal free as we all know.
Yeah I'm not a massive fan of Vegan Freaks, especially the podcast or forum. Think a lot of people are so incredibly hyped up on Veganism and get incredibly irritated by small non-vegan things in everyday life which sometimes I've learnt to get on with .i.e. adverts, attitudes etc. I thought the book was pretty awesome, when I became vegan I still had a few doubts and the book kinda reassured me that it was all good, definitely good to lend out to people considering veganism.
Anyway, back to the Tattoo topic, anyone know of Tattoo artists in the North West area (preferably Preston, Manchester etc) who use synthetic ink and have had successful tattoos? I will research myself!
Is it worth getting a small tattoo just as a taster for a bigger one? I'm sure this is a standard question most tattoo'd dudes get!
