Looks like I'll be there sunday covering for kunal's distro. Line-up seems quite different to previous years!
I'll be there for Saturday & Sunday, staying in Coventry. Driving from Leeds so there's some lift potential if anyone wants to hook it up.
going to be there saturday sunday tooo.
gutted i'm missing dalek, but i couldn't get it off work.
everything sorted.
thrones and Harvey Milk = awesome
poor Rough Trade dj's playing the same time as HM and Battles...it'll be full of tumbleweeds.
right..coach in a couple of hours..hopefully see some of you over the weekend!
Timetable's up now: http://www.capsule.org.uk/
If anyone needs a ticket for the Saturday only, please do let me know.
Will have a bunch of records to sell! Come say Hi, not sure if i'll be able to nip out to see bands. Hopefully will be able to
I need a ticket for saturday, maybe 2
Pumped up, man.
What this fest REALLY needs is Pennywise playing in front of skateboarders on a half-pipe
Wadical!
Fucking awesome weekend, good to see so many people I knew!
Bands of the weekend for me- Asva (just awesome), Oxbow, Harvey Milk, Efterklang.
Did Asva play the last track off Futurist's Against the Ocean with the female vocal? Gutted if they did!!!??
Asva played one long song, about an hour long that was just incredible, it has loads of moog and layers of really loud noise all over it, really trance-inducing without being boring, I'm gutted I haven't seen them before!
Efterklang were amazing. As were Thrones, Alexander Tucker, Noxagt and Wooden Shjips. Battles on the other hand were terrible.
Harvey Milk were spectacular, Oxbow suffered a bad stage sound well, Noxagt were shit (but I’ll let it slide, considering the line up funny stuff [I am that generous]) Asva were mighty AND quite clever, Dylan Carson has a very funny voice and Guapo were solid. Oh, and Fucked Up made me laugh.
Everything else I saw was fucking wank.

What did Team Leeds think of Gravy Train?
Harvey Milk, oxbow, Asva, Gravetemple, Earth, Oren Ambarchi, Dalek, efterklang, Harmonia, Orthodox and Black Sun were awesome. There are possibly more to add to that list.
Thrones and Noxagt were shitty, which was a big shame.
Overall supersonic still rules, birry!
I liked most of what I saw but if I ever see another half-arsed Southern Lord act in a room full of dry ice again in my life it will be too soon.
im so glad you saw efterklang - they were the main band i wanted to see (if i went).
they're fucking brilliant, so so so so good live

GrotThrone met my expectations exactly.

This was killer! Battles, Oxbow, Earth, The Heads (find of the weekend)Wooden Shjips and Harmonia the highlights. Good manageable turnout too. Maybe an overdose of drone on the Sunday, and the lack of beer on the sunday sucked, but pretty much great
Cheers to those who bought something from my stall! much appreciated. Was good to see so many people from many different parts of the country - was like a nerd rock convention or something.
Managed to get away and see some bits of the following:
Guapo - on the massive Stage 2 area, saw them a month ago in a small pub in Bristol and it seemed more of the same, so that was fine
Magnetophone - saw a little bit, wasn't in the mood for glitchy turntableism
Oxbow - don't do bad gigs, sounded immense i thought
Fuck Buttons - reminded me of underworld. a good thing!
Noxagt - couldn't get in the room, sounded a little formless and tepid to me. liked it when the bass first kicked in, but it meandered off after that
The Heads - perhaps seen them more times than most people there, seemed a little too blurred, but was good and relentless all the same
Battles - saw the beginning. was geared up to try and like them, but they came out being all genre-mashing without actually making any especially new noise, in their fucking M&S primary coloured jumpers, with guitars strapped on so fucking high that i had to leave
Harvey Milk - probably one of the best gigs i've ever seen. I liked the way it looked like the bassist's dad had wandered onstage (i.e.joe preston). the singer's voice was great, but joe's wasn't quite though
Orthodox - people raved about this performance, but i thought they were generic drivel. was the sound fucked? absolutely zero guitar
Asva - saw them a week ago also and they were great again. they are more of a drone band than a doom one. so fucking LOUD
Fucked Up - provided a good respite. why do they have 3 guitarists though?
Max Tundra - was a fun couple of songs! don't think i could take much more of that though
I dont think it would have been possible for Harvey Milk to be any better.
Saw your stall Kunal but I was always in a rush around the merch stand so I didnt stop for long.
Kunal, did those people in front of us during Harvey Milk piss you off? They wouldn't stop talking! Spot on about Battles, didn't get them at all.
Harvey Milk and Oxbow were incredible again tonight in Manchester, think I saw Yorkie there, not sure though.
