last thing i heard was five definitely aren't doing any studio productions of US sport anymore (so no nat and mike, no jonny and josh) and that would mean they probably aren't going to bother with it at all. fucking travesty.
once i get a laptop i'm probably going to sign up to mlb.tv so i can watch whatever games i want online and in high quality, but it won't be the same without the five team. no roadtrip, no tuxedos.... and NFL-wise, no more nate of the week or the tori you can support. sad times.
No more Mike Carlson? Shit. Always thought Nate looked a bit awkward presenting the NFL but JG and JC made the baseball so relaxed and simple to follow. It was a sport I never thought I'd enjoy but really got quite into it during my Uni years.
It would be a shame for Channel 5 to get rid of it. You would think there was a big enough audience for the NFL - if not the others - to carry it on, maybe put in a couple more advert breaks.
Might have to consider mlb.tv as well, certainly not going for Setanta or NASN subscriptions.
wouldn't be surprised if bbc picked up the rights seeing as how they now have the superbowl and international series games
i watch it on sky anyway. also, the nfl site has good though brief highlights of all games
But then the BBC would have to drop all their sign zone stuff. Unless they went and filled up BBC3 with it at night... That would be pretty good. I wonder if they'll invest in a sports channel once the country has gone digital, they've certainly bought a lot more back recently.
Did not know that about the NFL site, thanks for that. It's not the same though.
