RE: Deadwood.

Just finished season 3. What the fuck??? They set up for the bloodiest series finalé of all time, and then...nothing?? I demand satisfaction!

Re: tv shows

Ha ha i know yeah. I did feel at times that they were slightly shackled by history in the sense that I always knew

*****maybe a spoiler******

that Hurst wasn't going to die in the camp, which would probably have been the natural conclusion to that story arc. Maybe at the beginning of season 4 they would have had one of those cool scenes such as the one they put on masks and killed the chinese guy and his men.

Re: tv shows

I feel cheated. Apparently there were plans to conclude the series with two TV movies, but it's now very unlikely to happen. Fucking criminal.

Re: tv shows

I presume it was cancelled after the third series had been finished? As in, they couldn't tack on an ending because it'd already been shot.

Re: tv shows

The show being cancelled is a crime against humanity. It apparently had very high ratings. Not to mention the fact that it was fucking brilliant. ARGH. First Firefly, now this??

Re: tv shows

I felt so cheated watching the last ep of Deadwood, not a single bad ep and then they go and do that!

Wouldnt have been so bad if they made the follow up movies but no, nothing.

Just downloaded Six Feet Under to watch again.

Re: tv shows

Does Dexter get any better? I've watched the first two episodes and it's really fucking stupid. Plus, even though everyone seems to love him, i appear to have an aversion to Michael Hall whereby i want to punch him in the face. He was one of the many reasons i disliked Six Feet Under.

Re: tv shows

Any recommendations for good US comedy shows? I might check out this breaking bad.

Just finished rewatching seasons 1 & 2 of human giant, forgot how funny they were, especially the Will Arnett/Olsen twins threesome sketch. Absolutely loved Eastbound & down too.

I seem to be enjoying jpod a bit more this time roudn too.

Anyone seen Parks & Recreation? Created by Greg Daniels and written by the writers of the US office, it's got Aziz Ansari and Amy Poeheler in it too.

series 1? yeah, i was doubting the first 2 or 3 episodes but it does build pretty well and get quite addictive i thought.

Re: tv shows

dexter is one of those shows (like alias & the ultimate fighter) that i watched because someone else happened to be watching them whenever i was in the living room and i thought was shit and then ended up getting completely absorbed

Is that the thing they're showing on BBC3 before flight of the conchords? I was tempted to check it out.

Re: tv shows

Good calls on Deadwood.
Galactica was fucking sweet as was Firefly.
Dollshouse caught my interest cos of Whedon (and the fact that Eliza Dushku played the lead) but it's a bit of a snoozer.
Generation Kill was fucking sweet, written by Wire/Corner dudes, shame it was only one season.
Carnivale started of well but the second season shit the bed and was cancelled before the third.
Fringe is cool too.

There's not much else on i like really.

Its on bbc 3 now?

its been going a few years now off and on but theyve just banned them for 2 weeks for doing a dying kids sketch..

Yeah they do political stuff but also just plain daft stuff like booking flights as Al Kheda and Terry Wrist then not boarding the flight so the airport reads the names out on the tannoy.

think you can download them off their site

What's The Edge of Darkness? There's no sign of it on imdb

1980s conspiracy thriller with Bob Peck, really fucking good - some of the scripting is a bit maudlin when 'personal relationships' come up but such is the way with every TV series I've came across (I include The Wire in that). The Wiki page is concise and informative:

Brilliant programme. The 5th episode (I think, it's called Northmoor) is so tense from start to finish!
