Re: Noise Rock

not a huge fan of noise, but bummed out i couldn't see Sissy Spacek yesterday... show was da bomb i heard

check this vid

FUCK

anyone has recommendations in this direction? stuff that comes across as mathy, with drums and guitars. saw John Wieso (the mastermind behind that bass sound / sissy) solo & didn't do a thing for me... as most noise..

Have to think of this old jam i uploaded.. it's the last song Tunes for bears.. every did, not sure if this qualifies as noise but love stuff like this, more or less feedback with yelling and straight up savage :

Birth Defects 7" on Reptilian is great. kind of grunge-y with some electronics. person behind Fan Death Records is in em https://birthdefectsyouth.bandcamp.com/ … w-forged-7

Snakehole are in a similar ballpark to No Form etc. blown out hardcore dirge like Drunks With Guns and whatnot. dunno if their name is a Parks And Recreation reference or not https://wharfcatrecords.bandcamp.com/al … -s-t-12-ep

Elephant Rifle = riff heavy Unsane/Helmet and more modern stuff https://elephantrifle.bandcamp.com/album/ivory

New HEBOSAGIL is going to be a lovely bit of less-is-more, subtler, unusual stuff especially when you consider the other bands in this genre

That entire Gibbon Envy roster seems pretty weird. Loads of different projects with people from Distorted Pony, Headcleaner, Pain Teens, Head of David etc... contributing, but the releases are always CD-Rs with pretty shitty artwork. Listened through most of the stuff and even if they always have their moments, the whole thing just sounds better on paper than the actual releases.

This is not brand new but I encountered it recently.  Kicks the shit out of any hope you might have had left. . .

Such a great record.

Blimey. This sounds exactly as I thought it would, based purely on the two people involved. Not a bad thing. Love this sort of stuff.

I work with Matt, the singer. I told him about your kind words. And then tried to shake him down for cash for promoting his band online.

If he starts getting big headed about it tell him he's my fourth favourite member of the band

Re: Noise Rock

anybody know of any current bands doing noise rock more down the route of scratchy, wonky arab on radar type crud?  I enjoy heavier, sludgy stuff for sure but to me, bands like the former bring together the two worlds in a way that makes a bit more sense.

OOF. Well that did precisely what it said on the tin.  Thanks!

Guess I'll throw in x1 SWEAT TONGUE which I may have already done but fuck it.  More on the no-wave/improv side but so nice.

SHAREHOLDER from Edinburgh.

More than just a bit fall indebted; excellent repetitive riffs and screech; blown out, crappy recording fidelity; brilliant live.

Godstopper are churning out more great stuff. Pushing the melodic stuff to the fore which is interesting. Works well i reckon. New EP - https://hexrecords.bandcamp.com/album/who-tries-anymore and split with Great Sabatini - http://store.nolistrecords.com/album/split-5

need to get around to the new Brainbombs album. guessing it'll sound pretty much like Brainbombs.
