Re: Random / obscure 90s emo bands

i just got this 12" by a band called suetta

http://www.myspace.com/suettatherockband

it's pretty messy, but pretty interesting and very emo in places.

Re: Random / obscure 90s emo bands

the jaquay / locktep split is ok if you haven't heard that or the exlpoder for sumthin shouty maybe but yea there's some stuff not on emoisdead like the octavia and everest 7"s which i still want to hear, especially the 2nd cars get crushed 7" on deluxe which i heard is their best stuff.

Re: Random / obscure 90s emo bands

Anyone have an upload or ability to rip Staynless's first 7''? Here's some info. Any good?

Tufnut/East Meets West 7"
Captured via ADAT February 1997 by Hans Faulhaber in his garage.
Self-Released [out of print].

Really like the Exploder, will give Jaquay & Lockstep a listen today!

Re: Random / obscure 90s emo bands

all of staynless' stuff is good and worth a listen.

Re: Random / obscure 90s emo bands

Will look into that then! Apparently some of their stuff is still in print - the Old Salt 7'' at least anyway.

Did Twelve Hour Turn only release 1 7'' with just them on? Found one on Ebay and can't tell if it's different to the one I have or just a different cover.

Re: Random / obscure 90s emo bands

i think so.

I think the song title was in Russian.

Re: Random / obscure 90s emo bands

Found some early Merel recordings - http://bloggedquartered.blogspot.com/20 … -1991.html - I don't think these have had a major release...? Bit of a different sound but it's still great.

Re: Random / obscure 90s emo bands

i've got the merel demo tape somewhere, it's pretty raw.

Re: Random / obscure 90s emo bands

does anyone know the IDEA MEN lp? pretty obsure band/album (= i know nothing about them). if you have any info, please share them! pretty sure they're NOT obscure for the board senators like andy or sinker or oli! smile

Re: Random / obscure 90s emo bands

nah, never heard of them.

Re: Random / obscure 90s emo bands

Me neither but I found their myspace - http://www.myspace.com/theideamenband - first song sounds alright even if the vocals are really hard to hear. Gonna check the rest out...

Re: Random / obscure 90s emo bands

Looks like they had some releases on this label - http://good-evil.net/TSS/allreleases.php

Re: Random / obscure 90s emo bands

oli you are google lord.

Re: Random / obscure 90s emo bands

Ha I just typed in their name, nothing clever! The recordings on myspace are so fucking messy but I like this.

Re: Random / obscure 90s emo bands

The Cable full length 'Variable Speed Drive' on emoisdead is so good. I guess their later stuff was not on par with it? Did they not release anything else that was good? Total shouty emo ala Ambassador 990.

Re: Random / obscure 90s emo bands

I know I posted this a before, but I still have not been able to identify this band .
Sorta sounds like i'robot and violins. It was labeled "kisses and hugs" but it's not the band that did the split with half-man.

Re: Random / obscure 90s emo bands

Ha I rememeber you posting this before, I still have no clue. Have you tried asking folk on vl-wee-wee if they know?

Re: Random / obscure 90s emo bands

I haven't been on on that forum,  I just go to this site as my resource for old/new emo bands and reviews.

One of the best albums! They released a split 7" with malcoms lost (their side isn't so good, but their s/t 7" is amazing!) on moo cow records, which is equally as good.

You don't remember me...........do you.
