Re: BRIGHTON GIGS

not a gig but Stewart Home is doing some spoken word stuff at the Cowley Club:-

Wed 5th May
@The Cowley Club
5pm-6.30pm, free

Semina Book Tour

Open to public and FREE

The Semina series is dedicated to publishing unclassifiable prose from contemporary artists and writers.

Published by Book Works, Semina takes its inspiration from a series of nine loose-leaf magazines issued by Californian beat artist Wallace Berman in the 1950s and 1960s. The series is commissioned and edited by artist and writer Stewart Home.

The authors:

Stewart Home, ('Blood Rites of the Bourgeoisie')
Home's book uses spam as a text generating device and ridicules the London art world. It is written in the second person and mainly in the present and future tenses. Very explicit!

Katrina Palmer, ('The Dark Object')
With her first book, Palmer depicts an incredible account of alienation in a contemporary London art school. It includes a number of bizarre and humorous fantasies about the media's favourite Euro 'intellectual' Slavoj Zizek.

Bridget Penney ('Index')
Local Brighton author, this is her second book, the first 'Honeymoon With Death' was published by Polygon in 1991.

Mark Waugh ('Bubble Entendre')
Local Brighton author and film-maker. His first novel 'Come' was published by Pulp Faction in 1997.

Re: BRIGHTON GIGS

Ewan, are you doing tickets for the Magrudergrind gig or is it just pay on the door?

it's a good size venue - don't think it'll sell out

Re: BRIGHTON GIGS

yeah, i think it's 200 capacity so it'd be a shock if it sold out. plus tickets are just far too much hassle.
