Topic: drive like jehu

how is there not a topic on this band ? im shocked!

anyway my copy of yank crime has a black 12" and a black 7" with the songs new intro, new math and some other. it does not have bullet train to vegas and the other tracks on the cd reissue

i think it's out on cargo/headhunter

what is this ?

Re: drive like jehu

was it not just the tracks from the album that wouldn't fit on the vinyl 12" that are on the 7"? bullet train/hand over fist was available as a 7" single so that's probably why it's not on the vinyl album.

Re: drive like jehu

Yeah it was only the cd that had the tracks off the Merge 7" etc.

I noticed thay they had both records in Tempest the other week, might take the plunge and upgrade to the 12" for both.

Re: drive like jehu

I have the same 12"/7" combo thing. Picked up the Bullet Train 7" just because my CD version must be one of the first pressings and doesn't have those tracks on it.

Heaps of love for this band.

Re: drive like jehu

the repress definitely came with a bonus 7". not sure i have seen the original press.

Re: drive like jehu

Re: drive like jehu

Pretty sure Oli (Internationale) has some. Were like £7.

Re: drive like jehu

for some reason I thought the original post sounded like a Trivial Pursuit question...

and yes, Drive Like Jehu do indeed rule.

Re: drive like jehu

if i remember correctly, they were rad as fuck in cambridge.

Re: drive like jehu

Oli does have it, think i'll get it from him thanks for the hint

Re: drive like jehu

It's yours, forgot I had it actually! Cheers for that vega.

I also accidentally bought the 7'' that comes with Yank Crime off Ben Norton / breather-resist. thinking it was a 7'' of theirs I didn't know about. So if anyone bought the Yank Crime 12'' from him let me know!

Re: drive like jehu

Oli hold it for me ahah i'll mail you tonight or tomorrow, im at work right now!

Re: drive like jehu

I feel a DLJ marathon coming on.

Re: drive like jehu

(one of the) best band(s) ever - Yank Crime is without question in my top five - such a ridiculously good album. Favourite track - LUAU! And every other song, har har.

Re: drive like jehu

i only reecently (i.e. yesterday) realized rob crow did the backing vocals in luau. that thing when one is going luau luau and the other is going luuuuuuuuauuuuuuuuu is one of my fav bits in vocals ever

Agreed. Rob Crow is the man! I actually found out that it was him before I even knew who he was! Man Pinback was a big surprise.

Re: drive like jehu

Always loved this band. Intense as hell! Would love to have seen them live, but at least I got to see Hot Snakes & they DID do a DLJ cover (sure it was "Bullet Train To Vegas")

Re: drive like jehu

Drive Like Jehu were brilliant, I haven't listened to them in a good while though.
I liked the early Yourcodenameis:Milo EPs sound which ripped them off completely.
