Topic: best movie soundtracks

the soundtrack to that summer pretty much set the benchmark for me. standards like wreckless eric, undertones, ian dury etc. and a couple gems too:

the zones - new life

Wes Anderson always has good soundtracks. The Life Aquatic has to be the best though:

Exactly what I thought of when I read the thread title.  One of the best scores ever, Goblin were amazing!  Everyone should look into this if they don't already know it!

I'm seeing Goblin later this week with Argento visuals behind them. Please be envious of me. I am.

Re: best movie soundtracks

Buffalo '66, the Proposition, most Wes Anderson flicks (windofpain is right about Life Aquatic being the best), and the Pianist are some of my favourites. Are we talking soundtracks specifically for the film or a compilation of songs recorded by other artists?

Re: best movie soundtracks

I genuinely really enjoy the piano suites for the final fantasy games, especially for X. I know its nae quite movies but fuck off, its sick.

Supafly is cool.

Nobuo Uematsu is the mack daddy.

Also of all the music in all the world, the music that gets stuck in my head the most is the music at the end of Terminator 2 when they lower him into that molten stuff. I often wake up humming that crack. There's also a Grails song that sounds EXACTLY like it.

ah you beat me to it! theres something about the whistling in a lot of his songs in the trilogy that gives me  instant goosebumps. love it. Plus it reminds me of being about 8 when i literally would of killed to of been clint eastwood and spent the most part of the a couple of years annoying the fuck out of my family whilstling all those songs in the highest pitch possible.
