Still would put Burning Airlines in top 10 bands ever, aged really well.

I definately thought they didn't come close to Jawbox. I really wanted to like them too.

Did you ever hear the Rollkicker Laydown 7"? It was inbetween Jawbox and Burning Airlines,I think Burning Airlines did one of the songs live too.

Please read and share oureoin.com ,thank you.

Re: Post-Hardcore

Have never seen the Rollkicker Laydown 7" in the wild, maybe one day.
No Voices In The Wire was covered by Burning Airlines on a 7", think it was a live version.

Re: Post-Hardcore

Fans of Q and Not U/Shellac style post-hardcore-math-genre-name-core independant rock music might get a kick out of this. It's up for free download for a couple of days, good lads too.

No but I'm going to check it out thanks!

Re: Post-Hardcore

features geoff turner doing back up vocals too, it's awesome

Re: Post-Hardcore

What about a bit of Garden Variety? half way point between chuggy DC post hardcore and Jawbreaker pop punk. Works really well.

Re: Post-Hardcore

I really like Garden Variety, but only in small doses.

Please read and share oureoin.com ,thank you.

Re: Post-Hardcore

Yeah, Garden Variety produced some really good stuff.

Re: Post-Hardcore

2nd GV LP is a cracker. first one is not so hot.

Re: Post-Hardcore

best song is in the split with jejune, but 2nd lp is awesome

Never come across it! Found the first one in a second hand shop yonks ago and it's all I have and I really love it, terrible production though, sounds like it was recorded onto a ZX spectrum hmm

Re: Post-Hardcore

Not sure if this fits in here, but this is a pretty decent post-hc band: http://native.bandcamp.com/

Re: Post-Hardcore

anything he touches turns to gold

Re: Post-Hardcore

been vibing off some Victims Family recently!

Re: Post-Hardcore

I'm having a bit of a resurgence of interest in this stuff. Lots of Quicksand, Swedish Quicksand (Fireside), Farside, Jawbox, Chamberlain...Actually I never heard Chamberlain before but have started with Fate's Got A Driver (the remixed version I guess) and it's exactly as expected, and I'm enjoying it.

did anyone hear that band with dudes from titr, garrison and thursday yet?

http://www.myspace.com/ihateourfreedom

sounds like a bad "tougher" version off garrison or something. bleh

Ex-Milhouse too! I'm actually pleasantly surprised to hear Grillo's yell again! But yeh that name is appalling!

In other recent (literal) post-hardcore news, I've given Guiltmaker a few spins. Both the name and the member's lineage (Reversal of Man / Combatwoundedveteran!!) you wouldn't expect slick Elliott-esque rock, but that's what it is, and it's alright I spose:
