Re: Let's talk about emo

Speaking of Anasarca, there are few better 7"s than their's. Eugene Debs is completely immense. I would post the youtube, but the vid up there has had the sound removed, somewhat inconveniently. Ps i enjoyed that clip you posted, Kingmob. Spirit Assembly were really awesome, eh Oli? wink

We're going to party, karamu, fiesta, forever.

pretty sure the one on the ribbon fix cover would have made you throw up if you drank it. was pretty ropey mass produced stuff that i got as a christmas present from some well meaning relatives.

Re: Let's talk about emo

the ribbon fix is on ebay atm but so expensive sad 22 euros sad can't effort to buy any records atm. just waiting for my last order to arrive.

Re: Let's talk about emo

Month of Birthdays' 'Heightened' EP is dead nice on first listen. Heightened strongest track on it probably. Subjugation comes through again!!!

Friends Unseen, Month of Birthdays + Imbiss are all the same singer, right?

I'm enjoying reading through this: http://www.myspace.com/subjugationrecords

Re: Let's talk about emo

yup, that one's up there too. great Slackers quote at the start. very strange to watch that film for the first time a couple of years back and hear that clip without the tune.

Re: Let's talk about emo

re: song structures, i was thinking about this yesterday. its too easy to go for the gradually layering up more noise then going quieter then either fading out or going loud again. but as long as there's bad harmonies, i'm in.

settle down

Re: Let's talk about emo

Can somebody recommend me some Pot Valiant-esque stuff? Been listening to the 7"s recently. So good! Anything vaguely miserable/slowcore-ish sounding would be grand. Ta!

Retention colours are the only true colours.

Re: Let's talk about emo

your best bet is the miserable old man indie rock thread.

Re: Let's talk about emo

Shall check it oot. If it doesn't deliver, I'll be back in here creating a slowmo shitstorm.

Re: Let's talk about emo

If it doesn't deliver you are not old enough or miserable enough...

Re: Let's talk about emo

Re: Let's talk about emo

just listened to the breakwater/closure split 7" for the first time in ages and it's bloody brilliant.

Re: Let's talk about emo

Breakwater side is one of my favourite emo-songs ever. Never got into the closure side though.

No one would dare believe me, but I know where Venus lives
