Topic: At The Drive-In reform (maybe)

run out of money from making elaborate prog rock?

Would still go see em live.

If this isn't fake.

Re: At The Drive-In reform (maybe)

beyond conflicted. the less time omar has to force 20 "sound collage" records and sub-zeppelin nonsense on the world the better though.

edit: (i would definitely go because i am a sucker)

Re: At The Drive-In reform (maybe)

Fuck all the negative things that might spring up, I'm fucking going to see them live if I can!

Re: At The Drive-In reform (maybe)

Would see em live because they were the band that got me into all this punk rock nonesense.

I really hope if they make new material it's more "fuck it lets do a proper band that sounds like some guys playing in a room" and less "shit we've signed this deal we had better make something..where's the guitar pedals?" while half the band are in different studios tracking their parts.

Now now are you having a go at relationship of Command there?  That would be bad form sir.

Jury's out on wether I would go.  Didn't get to see them last time but i loathe reunions.

I didn't go and see The Jesus Lizard and I think I'd extend that to ATDI.

Re: At The Drive-In reform (maybe)

fuck this and fuck them, stupid funky bastards.

I'm not singing for the future
I'm not dreaming of the past
I'm not talking of the first time

Re: At The Drive-In reform (maybe)

And in further news, looks like Refused are also getting back together. Have been announced to play Coachella this summer.

Re: At The Drive-In reform (maybe)

fIREHOSE are on that poster as well. my head hurts.

Re: At The Drive-In reform (maybe)

if there was a 10 hour long loop of barry zuckerkorn jumping the shark on youtube it would be the only appropriate thing to post.

I had a horrible feeling something like that would happen!

I can take solace in that I couldn't really afford it anyway.

I think "stupid funky bastards" might be my insult of the day tomorrow.

Never really *got* the demented hype surrounding Refused.

The shape of punk to come even though it is a pun must be one of the all time classic terrible album names.

Re: At The Drive-In reform (maybe)

Was lucky enough to see them at Reading Fest 2000 so don't need to see them now.
Zero tolerance on reformations (apart from Coalesce who happened to be really good).

Re: At The Drive-In reform (maybe)

Im with Kunal on this. Zero tolerance on reformations (apart from The Pogues, Unbroken, Pavement and Mission of Burma who happened to all be really good, ive probably missed some off too).

Re: At The Drive-In reform (maybe)

Jawbox reformation after that TV show they did would be good

superchunk, dinosaur jr.

Re: At The Drive-In reform (maybe)

Lifetime did a proper reunion. Other people shouldn't be allowed to, they'll just get it wrong.

Re: At The Drive-In reform (maybe)

Anyone else excited for the Squeeze reformation?

I'd rather haemorrhage my own head into a cesspit of gimps.

Re: At The Drive-In reform (maybe)

I like that one they did with a yellow cover. I kept hearing one of the songs on telly at the time.

Refused have always been and will always be a filthy basketful of utter cunty pissclogs.

I like music.

Re: At The Drive-In reform (maybe)

this is all good, i'll be happy to witness it all via youtube if i have to, if they still play with the lights on.  saw them back in the day, 12yrs ago, barfly london, i was 18 hmm changed my life to not sound too cliche

and yea it'll be good if they make a proper album again

but wassup wid ol' Cedric of late?

Has anyone seen the refused documentary with all the staged shots of them looking really wistful in an abandoned quarry and other such embaressing shite.

REFUSED ARE FUCKIN' DEAD (until someone offers them a nice fat paycheck).

Feel very conflicted about ATD-I, would still go and see them live I guess.

Reunions make me uneasy, you wouldn't get back with an ex after 10 years would you? (would you?) Surely there's a reason that bands split and once that happens you kind of lose momentum and energy?

Re: At The Drive-In reform (maybe)

I would still go and see a UOA and Moss Icon reunion. And Soon the Darkness.

I like music.

Re: At The Drive-In reform (maybe)

Saw Twat the Dive in a few times....
SHHHIIIIIIIIITE!!

These nostalgia wanks festivals do are dogshit. Drive in won't do anything new or exciting (never did... just ponce about in tiny tees with massive hair... GREAT!) but they'll still be percieved as 'better' than all the 'newer' bands... well yeah, at that kinda festival full of Doylems where the driving force is shifting units and marketting sellable faces.

We shouldve killed them when we had the chance.

you still bore me...
