Soundgarden

although i wouldn't mind seeing them despite Chris Cornell's frankly embarrassing behaviour post-split (Audioslave marginally forgiveable, Timbaland produced shit hop, hell no). also I would go with xdamienx and explain properly why Superunknown is vastly superior to Down on the Upside (aside from Pretty Noose, Ty Cobb and Applebite which are nifty songs)

would be up for this just to see you eat your stupid words when they crank into 'overfloater' (even though they probs don't play it, but yeah, jog on mate)

Re: Reformation thread

The Mob (New York) reform song manages to be almost as bad as that new DYS one. pretty impressive.

This kinda puts me off that documentary

"Much has been written about the pre-Nirvana period of American punk
rock, but there's never been an examination of DC's
contribution."

Its marketing guff. Take what you want from it.

The docu will have siqqq footage of great bands and interviews people like Tonie Joy and Shawn Brown, you never hear those guys angles as they weren't in Dischord bands, which is cool.

Re: Reformation thread

Wasn't there a doc about the DC scene called Dance Of Days?
Or was that a book only?

Yeah that's a book, its interesting, he does bum on about Positive Force and stuff a lot, and not so much into some great bands... took me years to realise he was THE GUY from Positive Force.

Did Dave Smalley start Conservative Punk?

no comment

Chhhrriissttt almighty! Excruciating stuff.

Smalley actually stayed at my flat many years ago after a Down By Law gig. Actually seemed a pretty stand-up dude. No rockstar-isms and we had a good chat about Boston and DC of yore. Was actually invited to his place if I was ever in LA. Cue a good few years later and he's Mr. Conservative Punk (or certainly contributing to the site) I'm rather glad we hadn't discussed politics at the time, might have been a tad awkward...
