Re: Reformation thread

I wonder how many people would turn up to a Bob Tilton reunion.

Oh they'd fucking come. Especially if a 'classic album' was aired in the grindingly boring order it was recorded.

Surgically cleansing the bottom of the barrel.

"We’re also offering Indiegogo campaign perks only: handwritten lyrics, custom ring tones, Skype lessons from members of the band, we’ve got exclusive t-shirts, hats and hoodies, even original test pressings of Pause’s scratch sample mix on vinyl we made especially for touring back in the day!"

One person fairly crucial to that would certainly be missing unfortunately.

Re: Reformation thread

Well I started this thread to berate bands for reforming, but those last albums by Godflesh, Eyehategod and Hammerhead were all total smashers

Re: Reformation thread

Lunatic Fringe reformed and another local went to see them in london and described them "made me embarrassed to be from bristol" - ha ha ha

personally reformed bands come with automatic disappointment factor for me. I never expect them to be as good as if i saw them the 1st time round. Its a bonus if they come close. I went to see Negative approach who`s early records i adore but as good as they were i think most the crowd were involved in some werid box ticking exercise.

Maybe i`m just too cynical.

Re: Reformation thread

I think you're right on the 'box ticking' aspect of going to reunion shows, between that and the expectation that comes with any kind of legacy it sets up a really weird atmosphere.

Hello, how are you today?

Re: Reformation thread

new shellac last year.

I think the veering down rawk avenues and the Dave Grohl involvement kind of put me off these guys. Plus does every band have a documentary about them now?

Re: Reformation thread

planes mistaken for stars saying new stuff in the pipeline and deathwish are reissuing 'mercy'? i know few people on this are down on later-period PMFS but i thought they were much better creepier.

not sure i want a new record, though. also wasn't crazy about that specific album.

Re: Reformation thread

Spy Vs Spy and Former Cell Mates are both playing at Out Of Spite. Can't wait!

Nah, they never broke up. Just annoyingly take their time. It's really fucking great though the new LP. Far better than excellent Italian greyhound
