Topic: Dist/Overdrive/Fuzz pedal advice

I'm sure a cab/head job would be my best bet but I don't have the space or $$$ for that at the moment. So, pedal-wise, what are my best options? Would be used for: sounding like Polvo in my bedroom, being a punk when I finally get around to it again,  but mainly adding an extra bit of crunch to this sort of stuff (reverb content within): http://marstostay.bandcamp.com/

I'm no tech-head so any advice would be appreciated! Calling Joe C/Phil.

Re: Dist/Overdrive/Fuzz pedal advice

get a nice crunch on your sound but still really clear, overdrivey not distorted. My friend Ross used one on all the guitars on this: http://kidpang.bandcamp.com/album/crimerave. I know that's not exactly what Mars to Stay is going for bandwise, but the guitar sound?

Re: Dist/Overdrive/Fuzz pedal advice

Sounds ideal! Just wondering how it would sound in conjunction with a ton of reverb though - can't find many examples on the web. I suppose the closest thing that comes to mind is some of Planning For Burial's stuff, with a touch less distortion maybe.

Another specification is that - and I'm not entirely sure how to word this (forgive me!)- I'd have to be able to control the trails so that when switching between clean and whatever overdrive/dist I'm using, the dissipation of the gain would be gradual rather than abrupt (like when switching channels). I hope that makes some kind of sense!

Any other recommendations folks? Would like as much input from others as possible smile
