Struggling to find much hardcore though...

Re: Chinese Hardcore

hah - my mate put that comp together. I used to sing in a band called The Instigation.

best hardcore band in China is Fanzui Xiangfa. Nevin the guitarist also runs Genjing records out in BJ - he's put out a few punk records amongst other things.

Re: Chinese Hardcore

Heh... yeh, teach me to listen to a few tracks randomly (Instigation, Pairs, Bomb Cola) and get carried away...

The Instigation are raw as you like - downloading their "ST" EP piqued my interest (had to pay good money for that). Very old school, pre-rollins black flag.

Or rather should I say your ST EP dude - did you do anything else?

Re: Chinese Hardcore

@steerpike20 nah mate, moved back to the UK and been a wage slave ever since. Would be keen to start up something similar though....

The bassist Toshi, who wrote all the songs, moved back to Tokyo recently and is now playing in a band called The Sprouts - a kinda blown out hardcore, garage punk band, similar to Nomos.

I have a 7" of their's. Pretty ripping!

Re: Chinese Hardcore

Yeah FZXF share the same drummer as DS-13. Actually there is a long historical connection with Beijing and Umea - International Noise Conspiracy where one of the first overseas independent and certainly the first "punk-ish" band to play there, I think in 1999...

Re: Chinese Hardcore

Just ordered the Daighila 7" myself out of sheer curiosity. Will see how long it takes to arrive. Cheers gents. Particularly like these guys' artwork / imagery. Brutal.
