Topic: current playlists

thought I remembered a thread on this topic but maybe I mixed it up with the recent purchases one....anyway, what records are getting lots of plays for you at the moment?

for me:

Coil Live 1,2,3 and 4
Ukiah Drag - In The Reaper's Quarters (can't believe how great this is)
Montcalm - demo (was reminded of this and really enjoying it again!)
Dark Blue - Pure Reality
From Monument to Masses - s/t (had totally forgotten about this lot!)
Gay Kiss - Preservation Measures (favourite hardcore record of the year, so far)
Bongripper  - Miserable (think this is turning out to be my most listened to record from 2014)
Institute - Giddy Boys and Salt
John Luther Adams  - The Wind in High Places (favourite contemporary classical release at the moment by a long way...)
K. Michelle - Anybody Wanna Buy a Heart (no idea R&B could still be this good...
Moon B - Lifeworld (really weird and satisfying)
Murder By Death - Big Dark Love (thought it was boring at first but now I can't get enough)
Neon Blud - B Girls (ultimate messy, noisy Sonic Youth worship)
Amen Dunes - Love
Pneu - Destination Qualitie (maybe my favourite new record of the year so far...)
Purling Hiss - Weirdon (slept on this last year, now blown away by it)
Wymyns Prysyn - Head in a Vise (ditto)
Wild Throne - Blood Maker (ditto again)
Susan Sundfor - Ten Love Songs (completely outstanding)
Behold the Prophet No Lord Shall Live - everything...
Anasazi - Dirty Witch Rock (totally awesome noisy rock darkness)
Angel Olsen - Burn Your Fire For No Witness (listening to it....not sure I love it but it's pretty good)

Re: current playlists

Lately for me:

Boyfrndz - Breeder LP (proggy, spacey post-hardcore goodness - same label as that Wild Throne lot)
Circle - Six Day Run (staring at the wall a lot)
Prizehog - Re-Unvent The Whool (liked this when I heard it but been listening to it more and more - spaced-out sludge weirdness)
La Misma 7" (just brilliant punk rock - this record is so exciting)
Vic Chesnutt - At The Cut (self-aware misery)
Murder City Devils - The White Ghost Has Blood On Its Hands Again (after circling it warily for a time I now love this)
Volahn - Aq'Ab'Al (weird, idiosyncratic black metal that, because it sounds almost right sounds brilliantly wrong)
Iron Monkey - Our Problem (still ill)
Hey Colossus - In Black And Gold (absolutely stellar release)
Perfect Future - Manifesto (fantastic 12HT/Drive like Jehu malarkey)
Teeth Of The Sea - A Field In England Reimagined
Legion Of Andromeda - Iron Scorn (testing my patience and endurance to the giddy limit)
Multicult - Variable Impulse (great, jagged noise-rock)
Blind Idiot God - Before Ever After (still got it)

Re: current playlists

California X - Nights In The Dark (currently my fav 2015 album)
Pile - You're Better Than This (kind of harvey milk gone 90s indie)
Dimesland - Psychogenic Atrophy (discordant tech twiddle)
John Carpenter - lost themes (JC being JC)
Donald Fagen - The Nightfly (Steely Dan solo = yacht rock perfection)

Re: current playlists

That Dimesland album is insane!
