Topic: best uk bands of 2015

companion piece to your favourite records - who's your favourite band you've seen/heard in the uk this year?

wall crushed it for me this year. absolutely unreal live.

no form - 12" is something truly special, i'm a fool for not having seen them yet.

soul structure - great first record, newer stuff is absolutely amazing live and can't wait for the two records they have planned next year.

artefact - yet to see them live but the demo is one of the best things i've heard this year.

human hands - gigs few and far between but mind blowing each time. from what i've heard live, their lp is a shoe in for next year's top 10. they've been around for so long now but just keep getting better and better.

the blue period - perfection both live and on record. when i listened to the 12" i wondered how they would ever work live, glad i was wrong.

cady - had never heard of them before playing a show with them in bristol and was really impressed. total throw back to the late 90s/early 00s heavy/screamy stuff in a good way.

Re: best uk bands of 2015

predictably: human hands, the blue period, arkless

missed soul structure live oops. the next record is way good tho.

Re: best uk bands of 2015

Reckon 2015 has been a brilliant year for UK punk/hc/general gnarliness.

Highlights:

Sauna Youth- their latest LP is just superb.
Drunk In Hell (a tape, finally)
Bong - consistently great.
Snob live and generally
No Form 12" being rather good
Art of Burning Water
Beast As God (?)
Henge LP
Ghold LP
Uncle Acid - third LP has copped quite a bit of flak, but I'm into it.
Also: LVEUM, sncl, Static Shock, SuperFi and Rocket Recordings being labels of splendid and refined tastes.

Not UK but need to be mentioned:

Malthusian and Zom being bloody amazing.

Re: best uk bands of 2015

damn yeah, sauna youth's new lp is brilliant. forgot that. only saw them once live this year and unfortunately it was at the lexington so the sound was garbage.

Re: best uk bands of 2015

man, so many (probably very awesome) records coming out from all these people next year yikes
