7“

CFM - Homegrown Paranoia 7“ (in the red - Charles Francis Moothart is back with three new tracks guaranteed to melt faces and ear drums. Following the one-man recorded debut album, Still Life In Citrus And Slime, these new songs were recorded with his touring band. Heavier, gnarlier and more rad! Comes housed in a beautiful Pettibon-esque picture sleeve.  Watch for a new album in 2017.) 6.00

RIK & THE PIGS - Pig Sweat 7“ (total punk - BACK IN PRINT!!! Right on the heels of the Black Panties and Patsy 7"s on Total Punk comes this beast of a record. RIK & THE PIGS had a demo tape out earlier this year on Lumpy Records that I absolutely flipped over and I am happy to announce their vinyl debut is with us. The quintessential Total Punk release and if I was left releasing nothing but Rik & The Pigs records from here on out I'd be one happy dog. Sleazy hook filled punk with shredding guitars, seething snot covered vocals and gnarly as hell. Double A sider for sure. Not for the faint of heart. Sweaty, blown out, raw, and 100% TOTAL PUNK! Second pressing limited to 300 copies.) 7.00

RIK & THE PIGS - Don't Tell On Me 7“ (total punk - Total Punk faves RIK & THE PIGS are back with a brand new single and here to prove their grime comes in more than one flavor."Don't Tell On Me" is greasier than crisco and harder to get out of your fur. Sleazy glam snot of the highest order. Flip this baby over and you get a cover of Candy Slice’s “Gimmie Mick” sour enough to make you pucker them lips. Sleazy, greasy and 100% TOTAL PUNK! Edition of 500 copies.) 7.00

LP

AUROCH - Mute Books LP (prfound lore - Vancouver, BC-based Auroch have gained recognition as one of Canada’s most active death metal bands since the release of Taman Shud in 2014. Comprised of vocalist/guitarist Sebastian Montesi (bassist/vocalist of Mitochondrion), vocalist/bassist Shawn Haché (vocalist/guitarist of Mitochondrion) and drummer Zack Chandler, Auroch have been on the live circuit consistently through various shows, tours and festivals in the US, Canada, and Europe, including Maryland Deathfest. Their debut From Forgotten Worlds was re-issued on 20 Buck Spin, and most recently, their split/collaboration 7-inch with their co-conspirator sister band Mitochondrion came out via Dark Descent.) 22.00

BERT JANSCH - Jack Orion LP (superior - Jack Orion, Bert Jansch’s third album, may have surprised some fans upon its 1966 release, as it features no original compositions by Jansch. While nearly all of the eight tracks (four of which include guitarist John Renbourn) are interpretations of traditional folk songs, Jansch’s experimental approach breathes new life into this repertoire through his exploratory use of open tunings and passionate, gritty vocals.) 22.00

THE BILL DIXON ORCHESTRA - Intents And Purposes LP (superior - After spending the early ‘60s playing in groups with Cecil Taylor and Archie Shepp, trumpeter Bill Dixon recorded his singular and visionary masterpiece in 1967. Intents And Purposes remains not only Dixon’s defining statement as a composer, but also one of the most luminous moments in the history of avant-garde jazz. Combining orchestral timbres with free jazz intensity, Dixon leads a ten-piece ensemble including such heavyweights as Byard Lancaster, Robin Kenyatta, Jimmy Garrison and Reggie Workman. Closing each side of the album, “Nightfall Pieces I” and “Nightfall Pieces II” are evocative duets featuring Dixon’s flugelhorn accompanied by flautist George Marge. With Intents And Purposes, Dixon creates a work focused as much on sculpting and defining space—emphasizing moments of resonant stillness around which the compositions thrum and swell—as on purity of expression. This first-time vinyl reissue is recommended for fans of Art Ensemble of Chicago, Anthony Braxton and Henry Cow. “One of the richest and most compelling LPs to taunt and tempt listeners into a life of freakdom.” ) 22.00

BLACK MECHA - I.M. Mentalizing LP (prfound lore - Black Mecha is the very strange, minimalist electronic project of Wold mastermind Fortress Crookedjaw. A theory of mind / aural operation inspires these raw sound waves, directed by the electric musical poetry of Internal Masonry, supplemented with sci-fi driven surreal and minimalist analogue patterns. I.M. Mentalizing presents audio realms of glitchy system mental warfare through spazzed robotic thought inducement mechanisms, churned out by penetrating ever-scanning inner lasers.) 22.00

DOWNTOWN BOYS - same LP (radical - A reissue of the debut album by Providence, RI’s DOWNTOWN BOYS via Buffalo, NY’s Radical Empathy Records. First recorded in 2012, the album was originally self-released on hand made cassettes and CDs, both of which have been unavailable for years. Available now for the first time on vinyl, the tracks sound as urgent and raw as ever, and are a perfect document of the band’s original lineup that created its now signature sound. The album was originally created in a suburban Rhode Island basement during the band’s first year of existence by friend MICHAEL JEFFRIES, and later mastered at Rhode Island’s Machines With Magnets. The 10 songs include many that are now standard in the band’s famously high-energy live performances, such as "Rich Boys," an earlier version of "Slumlord Sal," "Haz Algo," and covers of "Maldito" by Mexico’s Jessy Bulbo, and "Poderimo Rok" by Pekinška Patka from the former Yugoslavia. The recording is an exciting window into the sound and ideas that would later develop into the group’s 2014 7-inch released on Sister Polygon Records, and their better known 2015 LP Full Communism released Don Giovanni records, which garnered “Best of The Year” accolades from Pitchfork, NME, NPR, All Music and more, and inspired Rolling Stone to call them "The Most Exciting Punk Band in America.”) 17.00

EAST WALL - Silence DLP (dark entries - East Wall was an Italian electronic dark wave band started by Fabrizio Chiari (ex keyboardist of Kirlian Camera) and Wilma Notari in 1982. After a series of demos and live performances, the duo recruited Angelo Bergamini of Kirlian Camera to help with arrangement and synthesizers. They released their debut single “Eyes Of Glass” in 1985 which had huge success in Germany, leading to a deal with ZYX.  ) 26.00

ENISUM - samoht nara LP (vendetta - Enisum is an Italian atmospheric black metal band from Susa Valley (Val di Susa), the longest valley of Italian Alps, near Turin. They took their name from a local mountain, since Enisum is the anagram Musinè mountain, spelled backwards. The band was formed in 2006 by Lys as his personal project and self-released several demos, without any proper distribution. Finally in 2014 they signed to Dusktone label and in October 2014 their first professional full-length album entitled “Samoht Nara” was released.  ) 13.00

ELUVIUM - Talk Amongst the Trees DLP (The highly acclaimed Eluvium album is finally released on stand-alone vinyl for the first time ever as a limited edition of 2,000 copies. Originally released on CD and Digital formats only, "Talk Amongst the Trees" was eventually available on vinyl exclusively as part of the "Life Through Bombardment Vol. 1" box set. With that set long out of print, Temporary Residence finally reissues this stunning album on vinyl. The limited-edition 2xLP set is packaged in a full-color wide-spine jacket with dual heavyweight full-color inner sleeves.) 27.00

Finally in 2014 they signed to Dusktone label and in October 2014 their first professional full-length album entitled “Samoht Nara” was released.   ) 13.00

HAND HABITS - Wildly Idle (humble Before The Void) LP (woodsists - “Singer, songwriter and guitarist from Upstate New York Meg Duffy, aka Hand Habits, has been putting in her time on the road and in the studio over the past two years with Pacific Northwest band Mega Bog, and the Kevin Morby Band, making an impression on everyone she comes across with her natural charisma and uncharted talent as a multiinstrumentalist. But let Wildly Idle (Humble Before The Void) be her open invitation to the world to step inside and take a much deeper look into who Duffy actually is.) 18.00

HORN - turm am hang LP (HORN's eighth studio album was inspired by the German folk song „Es ist ein Schnitter“ (17th century), the lansquenets, wars of the past, tribalism and the spirit of masculinity. Stylistically, the songs seamlessly blend in with the Feldpost material (2015) with clean and harsh vocals taking turns in conveying the eight mid-tempo songs solely performed in German. A cover of WHEN BITTER SPRING SLEEPS' brilliant "The sky has not always been this way" is rounding the album off in a perfect way. The artwork, layout and visual concept was carried out by Timon Kokott.) 15.00

JOHN BENDER - Plaster Falling LP (superior -viaduct - Plaster Falling was recorded at the same time as John Bender’s first album, I Don’t Remember Now / I Don’t Want To Talk About It. Released in 1981 on the artist’s own Record Sluts label, copies of Plaster Falling’s initial pressing came hermetically sealed in plaster (and later latex). Thus, listeners had to literally break open the record to find what’s hidden inside. Produced in relative isolation, Plaster Falling is a beacon of brilliance in the nascent minimal-wave sphere. Veering towards skeletal urgency, these recordings set bright analogue melodies against half-whispered vocals and expand Bender’s electronic cryptography thru a series of lone signifiers: “Station,” “Plaster,” “Women,” etc. As Bender explains in the liner notes, “I began to distance myself from the present and describe scenes as if in a movie – seeking concrete, terse, juxtaposed imagery.” This first-time standalone reissue is recommended for fans of Gareth Williams & Mary Currie’s Flaming Tunes, Minimal Man and Grouper. Pressed on translucent blue vinyl in a limited / numbered edition of 1,000 copies.) 23.00

JULIE BYRNE - Not Even Happiness LP (ba da bing - Sometimes it can take years to find your calling. Not so for Julie Byrne, whose power of lyrical expression and musical nous seems inborn. Her second album, Not Even Happiness, has evolved at its own pace. It spans recollections of bustling roadside diners, the stars over the high desert, the aching weariness of change, the wildflowers of the California coast, and the irresolvable mysteries of love. Teaching herself guitar, having picked it up when her father became ill and could no longer play, Byrne also admits she can’t read music and doesn’t even listen to it all that much—her own vinyl was the first in her possession. “Without possessing the right words, I’d describe to [producer] Eric Littman (Phantom Posse) and Jake Falby (who contributed strings) the feeling I wanted a song to evoke, or I would take a shot at singing what was in my head.) 18.00

KLEENEX / LiLiPUT - first songs DLP (mississippi - A collection of early tracks from the egendary Swiss punk band from the late '70s. First Songs combines all the band's pre-1982 material—three KLEENEX singles, the first two LILIPUT 7-inches, and all the originally unreleased material prior to Liliput's debut LP. A split release between Mississippi, Water Wing and Kill Rock Stars.) 26.00

K.LEIMER - Land Of Look Behind LP (palace of lights - The Land of Look Behind soundtrack returns to vinyl in a remastered and expanded edition that includes a download of three previously unheard and unreleased tracks from the original sessions. Alan Greenberg, who wrote and directed this film documenting the funeral of Bob Marley, provided K. Leimer with location tapes which were used to originate many of the rhythmic patterns for Land of Look Behind. Loops of the monologues and phrases that exhibited more distinctive cadences and pacing, the words, glottal stops, clicks and coughs of witnesses were used as cues for the percussion instruments. In effect, speech became the organizing principle of the musical score. By eliminating the accuracy of click tracks, musicians were prompted to rove through the inconsistent intervals of the voice-derived patterns. Also included is a four-page insert featuring an essay by Paul Dickow.) 18.00

LVTHN - Eradication Of Nescience LP (fallen empire - Recorded between July 2014 and March 2015, but delayed for numerous reasons, the debut album from Belgium's LVTHN is finally ready to be presented as an offering to The Nameless. Packaged in gatefold jackets with 12-page booklet.) 22.00

MARE COGNITUM / AUREOLE - Resonance: Crimson Void LP (fallen empire - Conceptual split album chronicling a chapter from the journey of Citadel Alunar. Two distinctly different styles of spaced-themed atmospheric black metal unified in vision.) 20.00

MARK FEEHAN - MF II LP (richie - Mark Feehan is a guitarist. In the 80s he bummed Floridian punks in Broken Talent. In the 90s he strangled strings and blew minds in Harry Pussy. Currently he is in post-no wave noiseniks Taiwan Housing Project. But these are mentioned merely as bio, as these things- hell, even Mark's lone solo lp (2012's MF on Siltbreeze)- will give you ZERO preparation for the sounds lurking inside MF 2. Moments of surprising acoustic beauty bookend perplexing electronic sound pools, buzzing almost-punk, Germanic vocal narration... It is safe to say this is the weirdest thing ever to appear on this label, and while we don't pretend to understand it half of it, we do know that we enjoy it. For those who welcome befuddlement and bemusement, we salute you! Hop on board.) 18.00

MARTIAL CANTEREL - Navigations Vol. I - Iii 3xLP (medical - Medical Records proudly presents a special limited edition of all 3 “Forgotten Tracks, Sketches and Unfinished Work 2002-2004” by Martial Canterel as a triple gatefold set. Volume I was released previously in 2013, and Volume II and III are simultaneously being released by Medical Records as standalones. SEAN MCBRIDE has been producing work under the Martial Canterel moniker dating back to 2002 as well as working as half of XENO AND OAKLANDER. These tracks capture the allure and depth of Sean’s early work exploring rhythms and perfectly crafted pop songs using a very early incarnation of limited instrumentation. Fans of Martial Canterel’s early work (think “Austerton” and “Sister Age”) will be instantly elated. This is the first time these tracks have been released on vinyl and have been remastered for this release by MARTIN BOWES at the Cage, UK. Contains special bonus insert with lyrics. Fans of early Martial Canterel as well as other cold wave icons such as A Blaze Color, Snowy Red, and the like will need this collection. Presented on high-quality 180-gram classic vinyl in a triple gatefold pack.) 55.00

MARTIAL CANTEREL - Navigations Vol. Ii LP (medical - Medical Records proudly presents Volume II of a collection of “Forgotten Tracks, Sketches and Unfinished Work 2002-2004” by MARTIAL CANTERELl. This release coincides as a standalone with Medical’s other releases of Volume III as well as a special 3xLP compiling Volumes I-III. MONOPOL - weltweit LP (medical - Medical Records collaborates with their good friends Anna Logue across the pond in Germany to present the long out of print Neu Deutsche Welle cult classic album Weltweit by MONOPOL. Released in 1982, Weltweit was the sole output of the band. It has appropriately become quite rare and difficult to find with the resulting high prices to obtain an original copy. Inspired by the greats such as Kraftwerk, YMO and Klaus Schulze, the three members crafted an exquisite collection of pop songs played on a very impressive collection of analog synthesizers, self-builds and drum machines that were considered cutting edge at the time. The band would have recorded a second album but split up before that was possible. Members of the band continued to be involved in the music industry at least peripherally but didn’t participate in further collaborations or bands. Also interestingly, Monopol was basically a studio-only project and actually never played live (despite some TV appearances). The album has been remastered by MARTIN BOWES at the Cage, UK. Contains a special bonus insert with lyrics and photos. Definitely a must-have for fans of NDW such as Grauzone, Reingold and the like. Presented on high quality 180-gram classic black vinyl. Limited edition.) 23.00

MOON DUO - Occult Architecture Vol. 1 LP (sacred bones - Meaning all things magick and supernatural, the root of the word occult is that which is hidden, concealed, beyond the limits of our minds. If this is occult, then the Occult Architecture of Moon Duo’s fourth album - a psychedelic opus in two separate volumes released in 2017 - is an intricately woven hymn to the invisible structures found in the cycle of seasons and the journey of day into night, dark into light.  Offering a cosmic glimpse into the hidden patterning embedded in everything, Occult Architecture reflects the harmonious duality of these light and dark energies through the Chinese theory of Yin and Yang.
In Chinese, Yin means “the shady side of the hill” and is associated with the feminine, darkness, night, earth. Following this logic, Vol. 1 embraces and embodies Moon Duo’s darker qualities — released appropriately on February 3, in the heart of winter in the Northern Hemisphere. ) 20.00

MEATBODIES - Alice LP (in teh red - With Alice, Meatbodies return ascending toward ground level. A “heavy-pop” concept, metal on molly. Chad Ubovich, Patrick Nolan, and Kevin Boog step out in new form, soaring through diverse stories, tones, and characters. Dancing between quiet and loud, funk and doom, pop and noise. Their message preached is celestial and deafening, a sacred scripture for today’s world: a warbling rhodes piano, a liquifying electric guitar, a ghostly synthesizer skating across the sands of a twelve-stringed acoustic. The band digs deep into the rich soils of Earth to reveal the chaotic sensual vibrations underneath the fields we walk upon. Connecting our limbs, our mouths, our consciousness to the microcosms of the grime, all while being lit by black light. Captured wriggling and alive in San Francisco by Ubovich and Eric Bauer at The Bauer Mansion, this album is a step in the right direction, a new direction, a new way of thinking. Watching the futures, watching the world burn. “Ubovich intones with a spaced-out, reverb-heavy delivery like a garage-punk Syd Barrett.” —LA Weekly) 18.00

MELVINS - King Buzzo LP (boner - n 1992 the Melvins’ fascination / adoration / denigration of the mighty KISS rock and roll universe compelled them to excrete out three solo masterworks inspired by the KISS solo LPs. The first in the series is King Buzzo, from the Melvins’ giggling guitar grumpus. Four songs of atmospheric clanging and rockin’ banging. Also features the many talents, drumming and otherwise, of a famous Grunge™ superstar, whose name sort of rhymes with New Wave Asshole. The second in the series is Dale Crover, from the Melvins’ sleepy drum caveman. Four songs of gloomy heaviness, with Dale doin’ the drummin’, singin’, guitarin’, and dancin’. The third in the series is Joe Preston, from the Melvins’ electronic beard warlord. Three songs of fuzz bass computer drone temper tantrum. All three 12-inches reissued on vinyl after 100,000 years out of print.) 20.00

MOON ATE DARK - Moon Ate the Dark I + II DLP (sonic pieces - With their second album Moon Ate the Dark is taking the next step of contemporary piano composition. Moving on from their well-received debut album in 2012, Moon Ate the Dark II is based on an extraordinary playful and varied approach to melodies and drones with dedication to subtle, yet complex details. The combination of Anna Rose Carter’s piano, violin and keyboard playing and Christopher Bailey’s electronics, amplifiers as well as organs and synthesizers creates something less shadowy than their first album in favour of a more melodic, still thoughtful endeavour that manages to virtuously move on the thin line of nostalgia and optimism.) 26.00

MR. TUBE AND THE FLYING OBJECTS - No Wrong No Rights LP (sdrl - NOW AVAILABLE!!! MR. TUBE AND THE FLYING OBJECTS is a musical conglomerate that’s spearheaded by PALL JENKINS (THREE MILE PILOT, BLACK HEART PROCESSION, UGLY CASANOVA) and BRAD LEE (THE ALBUM LEAF) along with dozens of others. This is the newest oldest chapter of the Freddie Dillinger saga. Written in the 1950s & 60s, brought to life in 2015. Planet stomping music. The process of bringing to life the lost songs of Freddie Feelgood and the Real Good Feelings has been rife with challenges. From the painstaking process of piecing together the few recordings that exist of the band’s original performances, to the struggle of clearing ownership and publishing rights long held by Freddie’s corrupt manager (who we finally tracked down to a small village near the Niger Delta), and finally the meticulous re-recording process involving dozens of San Diego’s finest musicians spread out over a grueling 8 years. Limited to 500.) 18.00

NO UFO - Nu Lp for RS LP (root straata - NU Lp for RS marks No UFO’s first proper LP (as Soft Coast on Spectrum Spools was considered a demo) and having been diagnosed with Carpal tunnel syndrome, will likely be the last of its kind. Eschewing the heavy gestures of today’s musical zeitgeist, NU Lp… finds Konrad Jandavs utilizing tape machines, foley libraries and rare synthesizers / amplifiers to construct an oblique sound world evoking reception, perception and agency. Of NU Lp…, Konrad states “I was trying hard to avoid making another 3 Feet High And Rising and that basically meant I was making a De La Soul Is Dead, but in the end it seems clear to me that I skipped ahead and made a Buhloone Mindstate.”) 18.00

POW! - Crack An Egg LP (castle face - POW! continue their danse macabre in the laser glow of hi-beam synthesizers, with a new batch of synth-punk candy that will rot your teeth: Crack An Egg. Vacuum-sealed, chrome gleaming, propulsion pounding, eyebrows arched and slightly pixelated, this album is like the cupie-doll face beckoning from a digital billboard outside your hovercraft window. From a none-too-distant dystopia and on to your turntable — VCFs slowly open across a smogged-out horizon as they urge you to take that “Necessary Call,” warn moodily against a “Cyberattack,” and inexplicably “Crack An Egg” in honor of the human race. Synthetic earworms squirm into and out of view like twinkling city lights through evening’s opaque air, feasting on terse punk skeletons. The neon is buffed to an aerosol sheen by Chris Woodhouse behind the blinking motherboards, with a streetlight or two of Gary Numan’s slanting through the door. The automatons know where the party’s at — follow them.) 18.00

QUESTION - Question LP (fashionable idiots - "Years in the making, this record displays a style of hardcore that has moved from the raw and primal angst of earlier records to a new level of structure and musicianship without losing any of its power or urgency. Furious catchy riffs, sick leads, ill breaks, critical beats, back up SAIRA's introspective, and sometimes inspirational, lyrics yet coarse delivery. A lot of bands today hide their lack of chops behind a wall or reverb and distortion, QUESTION employs driving hardcore with solid riffs eschewing this sleight of hand. Some of the structure reminds me of Totalitar, but unlike a lot of bands these days you can’t say this record 'sounds just like…' some other popular or legendary band. For those who wish to rage in hell."—Felix Havoc) 16.00

SHEER MAG - Compilation LP (wilsuns - Sheer Mag’s Compilation LP features the Philadelphia rock band’s three seven-inches, released between 2014 and 2016. All twelve songs were recorded onto the same vintage 8-track tape machine, carted to various locations around Philadelphia. The first two were produced in a makeshift studio wedged between two bedrooms in the band’s former South Philly house, while the third came out of a practice space in the Port Richmond neighborhood. Sequenced chronologically, the newly remastered songs reveal a young DIY band finding its sound.) 16.00

SOFT KILL - Choke LP (prfound lore - Portland’s Soft Kill began in 2010 by releasing An Open Door, one of the most highly regarded post-punk albums of the last ten years. Founding member Tobias Sinclair (ex-Blessure Grave) joins Conrad Vollmer (Warm Hands) on guitar, drummer Maximillion Avalon (Chromatics, Antioch Arrow, Get Hustle, Atriarch) and Owen Glendower on synths for their fourth album Choke, an eight song suite. This follows on the heels of 2015’s Heresy, which was much more claustrophobic and oppressive than their debut. Rooted in influences such as the Chameleons, Wire and The Sound, this latest album pulls delicately from foundational elements of the Cocteau Twins and Spaceman 3. It places the listener deeply under water, gasping for breath and beyond hope with tracks like “On The Inside,” featuring the vocals of legendary Mark Burgess of the Chameleons. Drawing from the first wave of post punk, the songs slip seamlessly into the cascading and ethereal elements of early shoegaze.) 22.00

THOLLEM / OLIVEROS / CLINE - Molecular Affinity LP (roartario - The third in pianist THOLLEM MCDONAS and guitarist NELS CLINE's series of free improv trios (with a different third player each time) brings in PAULINE OLIVEROS on v-accordion. Together they build evocative whodunit-scapes with understated tension worthy of a noirish thriller from the 1970s. Recorded in Oliveros's barn studio in upstate New York. Includes download card.) 19.00

V/A - ( The Microcosm ): Visionary Music Of Continental Europe, 1970-1986 3xLP BOX (LITA - The followup to Light In The Attic’s game-changing I Am The Center box set is finally here. Three years in the making, The Microcosm: Visionary Music Of Continental Europe, 1970-1986 is the first major overview of key works from cosmically-taped in artists needing little introduction—VANGELIS, ASH RA TEMPEL, and POPOL VUH—and and unknown masterpieces by criminally overlooked heroes like BERNARD XOLOTL, ROBERT JULIAN HORKY and ENNO VELTHUYS. Whereas I Am The Center called for a reconsideration of an entire maligned genre, The Microcosm requests nothing more than an open mind to consider this ambient, new age, neuzeit, prog, krautrock, cosmic, holistic stuff, whatever one calls it—as a pulsating movement unto itself, a mirror refracting the American new age scene in unexpected, electrifying ways, proving beyond a shadow of a doubt the universality of the timeless quest to express “the Ineffable” through music. Drawing from major label budgets and homemade cassette distributed circumstances alike, The Microcosmd emonstrates a depth of peace profound to behold, and clearly expands the boundaries. WET THE ROPE - the sum of our scars LP (adagio830 - Wet The Rope is a hardcore band consisting of members of Pitchfork, Amber Inn, Sinker, Exhale and many others. It's members have been actively making music for almost 30 years. "The Sum of Our Scars" is their debut album, and while you can hear the influences of the members' previous bands, the anger of this LP may catch you by surprise. WEYES BLOOD & ARIEL PINK - Myths 002 LP (mexican summer - WEYES BLOOD and ARIEL PINK join forces on Myths 002 for the second installment of Mexican Summer's collaboration series. ASH BORER - The Irrepassable Gate CD (profound lore - vinyl delayed - Over the last several years West Coast band Ash Borer have been recognized as one of the most prominent and active bands in the U.S. black metal scene. Following their critically praised second album Cold Of Ages from 2012, The Irrepassable Gate is produced by Randall Dunn (Sunn O))), Marissa Nadler, Wolves In The Throne Room), and is their most dynamic and sprawling album to date. With Dunn at the engineering helm, enhancing the wall-of-sound harshness and their signature expansive time-stretching tracks, the band delivers their most grandiose work. The Irrepassable Gate has an all-encompassing atmosphere complete with the raw, abrasive, and primal aura that defines Ash Borer.) 14.00

KRALLICE - Prelapsarian CD (self - For almost ten years KRALLICE has been cranking out music which both embraces the history of black metal and consistently pushes it somewhere else entirely. Prelapsarian is the bands 6th album, and the followup to 2015's unexpected ripper Ygg Huur. Shreddy, proggy, labyrinthine, and introducing some newer elements not so easy to codify just yet. The band's line-up has stayed the same since the beginning, building upon and perpetually manipulating the foundation originally formed in late 2007. Engineered, mixed, and mastered by Krallice guitarist COLIN MARSTON at his famed Menegroth studios in Queens NYC. Self-released by the band on their own Hathenter imprint. "If you don’t know Krallice, you should get to know them: They play hyper-technical, brutal, beautiful, hypnotic, almost avant-garde death/black metal that has no peers. Krallice destroy everything." —Michael Nelson (Stereogum)) 16.00

LAMBS / ILL NEGLECT - Trisma 7“ (If you’re looking to give 2017 a heavy, bombastic start, here is just the split to get the job done. Titled ‘Trisma’, this 7″ vinyl release brings together two sludge grind mammoths in Italian band Lambs ‡ and German entity Ill Neglect. A collaborative release by multiple DIY labels, this split is a bleak, dreary record that contains a monstrous tone overall. Though it clocks under just twelve minutes, the shear abrasiveness and the intensity of the riffs would have you playing this record over and over again.) 5.00

LP

BODYVOID - ruins LP (Four songs of painful sludge, pummeling doom, and destructive waves of noises greet the listener to the world of Body Void and their debut album "Ruins". The Bay area trio formed in 2014 and released a couple of well-received demos under the name Devoid, the change of name coinciding with a renewed focus that has seen them hone their unique styling of depressive noise and massive riffs to devastating effect. The band plays a similar style of sludge/doom like their fellow labelmates in Keeper and Primitive Man, or bands like Thou and Khanate. With lyrical themes as "death, gender identity, depression, suicide ideation, dreams, and, of course, space," the band's music weights down on you like a cinderblock tied to your feet, as you sink below the depths to a certain death.) 13.00

CULT OF OCCULT / GRIM VAN DOOM - split LP (vendetta - "The split album by the sludge bands Cult Of Occult and Grim Van Doom starkly contrast the two very different approaches that the two bands bring to the same genre. But, if anything, that contrast grabs the listener. Cult Of Occult’s half of the album is one, twenty-two minute long track titled “Black Sea”. It rumbles like a distant demon patiently clawing its way out from hell, one massive handful of earth at a time. Plump, earthy bass tones, ominous, cymbal-heavy drumming, hellishly guttural vocals and filthy guitar distortion are set to a tempo that makes Sleep look like a grindcore band. All of these elements remain constant throughout the twenty-two minutes of “Black Sea”, giving the song an endless, trance-inducing feel. The half of the album given to German quarter Grim Van Doom is rather different. Containing three songs and a brief interlude, Grim Van Doom’s side of the album is like a punch in the face from a spiked, steel gauntlet. While all three song’s on Grim Van Doom’s side of the album cross over the five minute mark, there is still a feeling of very little fat on them; they are all lean, brutish works of harsh sludge that churn your stomach and make the marrow of your bones tremble. Pungent tones grate against your eardrums as they doll out riffs that sound as if they had been written by someone who had spent the last two decades fuming at past transgressions and plotting revenge. Having the music of these two different bands stacked side by side is an effective way of exaggerating the qualities of both. Both Cult Of Occult and Grim Van Doom create music that is firmly within the sludge metal sphere, so there is enough similarity for coherence. However, while each band grabs sludge by the throat, they do so from disparate angels. Cult Of Occult’s slithering journey through the abyss brings out the pounding, martial energy of Grim Van Doom, who in turn make the hellish sounds Cult Of Occult that much more vivid." ( the sludgelord ) )13.00

DISGUST - a world of no beauty 2xLP (Immortal d-beat classic from 1997. First time on vinyl !) 19.00

ENDLESS FLOODS - s/t LP (dry cough - On this new offering, the French trio delves deeper into the realm of bleakness they established on their debut "Endless Floods", taking the listener into a trance-like contemplation through the 20+ minute-long monoliths "Impasse" and "Procession". In the same vein as their previous works, they blend their doom and sludge origins with noisier tones and crisper drones, following their own path through a never-ending land of heavy, boundary-free doom.) 13.00

THE GREAT OLD ONES - EOD a tale of dark legacy DLP (As their name implies, THE GREAT OLD ONES are heavily inspired by the works of H.P. Lovecraft. Like the sinister novels and stories of the American gothic horror icon, the music of the French act delves into the forbidden, dark, haunting, and violent spheres of art. Their forthcoming third album marks another big step in the band's fast rising career. 'EOD - A Tale Of Dark Legacy' keeps the promise of luring its listener deeper into darkness which each new track. Weaving a sinister yarn that constitutes a sequel of Lovecraft's only story to be published as a book, "The Shadow Over Innsmouth". Advanced and melodic black metal of haunting beauty with lyrics inspired by H.P. Lovecraft result in a perfect ensemble. Just listen and you will find out what waits down there…) 27.00

MONPLAISIR - Demo LP (echo canyon - Comes on black vinyl in cardboard jacket + 2 colors silk screened obi. Featuring Flo from Sport, my new favourite local band is called MONPLAISIR and you have to check them out. Influenced by la creme de la creme of the indie scene such as Sonic Youth, Unwound or more recently Solids, they will the new favourite band of every indie rock lover ! Not to mention that they’re all talented musicians and amazing guys who blew my mind live a couple times… so make yourself a favour and get that 12’’ now !) 12.00

TOE TAG - s/t LP (Blane Cooke (verbal killing machine ) has returned with two other ex Accüsed members (Alex Maggot Brain & Steve "O' Ring Nelson") of the splatter thrash legend's from Seattle. They have recorded the most sick and disgusting 12” since the nineties ...The most murderous mix of punk & thrash I've ever heard oozing with melodic, powerful riffs and inhuman fury.If you miss good old eighties splatterpunk, do not miss this 12”.) 15.0

VEXX - wild hunt LP (upset the - 180g, black vinyl. Limited to 500 copies. Recorded immediately following on from their truly epic European tour last Summer, ild Hunt' by VEXX is a deliriously hot-wired mini-LP. Showcasing the band utterly consumed in the moment, these six tracks blaze with giddy abandon, raging mere heartbeats away from oblivion. Recorded by Hayes & Sam at Dub Narcotic in Olympia, mastered by Golden Mastering. This LP is a one-time pressing (on black vinyl) in collaboration with our good friends at M'Lady's Records, with incredible artwork drawn by Maryjane herself depicting the supernatural Wild Hunt in hot pursuit.) 15.00

WET THE ROPE - the sum of our scars LP (adagio830 -  pressing is 100 on red and 400 on black - Wet The Rope is a hardcore band consisting of members of Pitchfork, Amber Inn, Sinker, Exhale and many others. It's members have been actively making music for almost 30 years. "The Sum of Our Scars" is their debut album, and while you can hear the influences of the members' previous bands, the anger of this LP may catch you by surprise. This album deals with the consequences of sexual abuse and predatory behavior. It is meant as both a personal and a political statement. 12 tracks of intense emotional pissed political hardcore!!!) 13.00

WIEGEDOOD - De Doden Hebben Het Goed II LP (counling sound - After the release of the critically acclaimed De Doden Hebben het Goed, Wiegedood didn’t exactly lay it low. Not only did the band tour Europe extensively, they also got together to compose their follow-up album De Doden Hebben het Goed II whilst being in the flow of playing together for numerous nights in a row. The organic feeling of playing the music live certainly found its way into the sound of the band. You can expect everything that was brilliant about the debut album, but more concise, compact, and precise. Over a relative short span of time, Wiegedood certainly developed a sound of its own within the atmospheric black metal lexicon. This sound is extended to the second installment of De Doden Hebben het Goed, but with a fresh and urgent ferociousness added to the mix. February will spawn a monster album. And that’s a promise.) 16.00

HIGH - High Spirits In Sick Times 7“ (new 7“s by the d beat smasher from germany) 5.00

SACRED PAWS - Everyday 7“ (rock action - Finally, finally, and it's a total sensation. Following on from their Six Songs debut 12" and blistering, joyous performances around festivals and basement venues, Glasgow's Sacred Paws have delivered on every promise ever made. Everyday is a fabulous pop moment from messrs Rodgers and Aggs, slightly less frenetic than their live action but all blinged up with glorious studio hooks and positive vibes. Everyday connects into so many different worlds - Lizzy Mercier Descloux's Zulu Rock, The Raincoats Ladbroke Grove experimentalism, Maximum Joy's robust fun, and maybe even a little bit of Paul Simon's Soweto adventurism. It's an anthem, a backlash to all the xenophobia and right wing politics that have been inflicting misery on all our lives. You need this, it's going to fly.) 7.00

ATTACKROBOTATTACK / BREAK CHARACTER - split 10“ (barley legal - this double Dutch release has been a long time coming. these songs were recorded in 2013, but various hindrances prevented them from seeing the light of day on the vinyl format until almost 3 years later. ARA play intense grooving hardcore in the vein of bands that took influence from Shotmaker and sprinkled a little more screamo into it. this is pretty rowdy and there's only two of them. also they have some sweet sci-fi sampling going on. ex-Brito and Grinding Halt.) 10.00

LP

AFTERLIFE - s/t LP (phoboact - Debut recordings from new dark and heavy crust / hardcore band coming from Nechyba area.) 11.00

AIDAN BAKER & CLAIRE BRENTNALL - Delirious Things LP (Delirious Things is an exploration of Aidan Baker's interest in 80s-influenced cold-wave, shoegaze, and synth-pop from such recording artists as Factory Records' Durutti Column, Joy Division, and Section 25 and 4AD's Cocteau Twins and This Mortal Coil. Combining song-oriented tracks with abstract interludes, the primary instrument on Delirious Things is a 1980s Casio synthesizer, rather than Baker's usual guitar, though the synth is processed through his usual guitar effect pedals, creating heavy, layered washes of droning synth sounds overlaying electronic rhythms and pulsing bass lines. Baker is joined by guest vocalist Claire Brentnall (Shield Patterns) whose voice is reminiscent of Liz Fraser and Kate Bush but still distinctly her own.) 16.00

ANGELO BADALAMENTI - OST Twin Peaks: Fire Walk With Me DLP (death waltz - Fire Walk With Me is an altogether more brooding affair than the Twin Peaks series soundtrack. Badalamenti won a grammy for the title track of this LP and it's not hard to see why- it's dangerous, and bursting with smokey jazz thanks to Jimmy Scott. We went back to the master tapes in the Warner Archives and had this recut to fit across two LPs as the score clocks in at 51 minutes. It sounds incredible and punchy, but super nuanced too. From the brooding opening bars of the main Fire Walk With Me Theme, Angelo Badalamenti's gorgeous, eerie score introduces us to a cinematic experience which significantly begins with the smashing of a television screen. Just as the Main Title from Blue Velvet echoed the Hitchcockian hues of Bernard Herrmann, so here we have just the slightest touch of Taxi Driver, as Jim Hynes' plaintive, keening trumpet soars above a landscape of melancholy keyboards, drawing us into a world which is at once alien and familiar.) 54.00

THE COURTNEYS - II LP (flying nun - The Courtneys drift back to the sound of the early ’90s, drawing from strong influences includingTeenage Fanclub, Pavement, Eddy Current Suppression Ring, and The Clean. Courtney Loove's dreamy guitar riffs add a timeless powerpop element to the punk backbone formed by Sydney Koke's driving basslines, while drummer/lead singer Jen Twynn Payne delivers heartfelt lyrics with a powerful vocal style. These components come together through a passionate collaborative songwriting process to deliver a special blend of fuzzy “artisanal grunge”. ) 20.00

ELUVIUM - Copia DLP (Following a string of increasingly remarkable albums, Eluvium's Matthew Cooper set out to broaden his instrumental palette, while maintaining the uncanny emotional resonance that has become his trademark. The result is 'Copia', an hour-long epic that applies Eluvium's heartache-inducing ether to a symphony of strings, brass, keyboards and piano. Noticeably absent but hardly missed are the washes of guitars that color most of Eluvium's previous material. The deliberate exclusion of traditional rock instrumentation serves as sufficient proof that the instrument is not Eluvium's driving force. At best it is a catalyst, a vehicle to that netherworld in the back of your head, where your life starts to uncontrollably reevaluate itself.) 27.00

FRUSTRATION - empires of shame LP (born bad - Introducing them for the umpteenth time would be disrespectful. But reminding everyone of why they’re essential can’t hurt. They’re closely intertwined with Born Bad’s rise to fame, being their first ever release, they’re seen as the caring big brothers of the French indie scene. Their pathway in itself is symbolic: hailing from the garage closed circuit from the 90s, they gave up the tattoos and brilliantine rock to try something different –at the crossroads of punk and cold wave, of Métal Urbain, Killing Joke and Joy Division, while we were all rediscovering France’s synth-wave heritage with the BIPPP and Des Jeunes gens mödernes compilations. And five fellows not particularly renowned for their technical skills found themselves invested with a peculiar grace, becoming avant-gardist just as they were entering their forties, and showing the way to a whole generation of bands that suddenly became aware that it was possible, even here, in our star-crossed France. Critical acclaim, high sells, delighted crowd: the rest is history. ) 15.00
GINNUNGAGAP - Nejsi Vitez LP (After many many years of existence here we have first album from Prague´s crust / punk devils !!!!) 11.00

IRON REAGAN -  Crossover Ministry LP (relapse - Crossover deviants IRON REAGAN call upon thee to join the holy order of thrash on their latest full-length, Crossover Ministry! Across 18 tracks and thirty minutes of frantic, punk-metal fury, IRON REAGAN mix a blitzkrieg of relentlessly catchy riffs and irresistible, mosh-ready grooves with punchy, thrash gallops and hardcore punk attitude. Crossover Ministry was recorded by IRON REAGAN guitarist Phil (Landphil) Hall at Blaze of Torment Studios, mixed by Kurt Ballou (Converge, High on Fire, Toxic Holocaust) at God City Studios and features stunning artwork by Bonethrower (Mastodon, Young Widows). On Crossover Ministry, IRON REAGAN prove that they are the new leaders of thrash evangelism. Hear their vicious sermon at a circle pit near you!) 18.00

GRAILS - Chalice Hymnal DLP (temproray - When Grails dropped their fifth studio album, Deep Politics in 2011, it was instantly hailed as a cult classic and became the moment when Grails truly cultivated a sound all their own. Six years later, they advance that sound with their most lush, expansive album of their inspired career, Chalice Hymnal. Rather than pick up where they left off, Grails take the sky-high riff-based heaviness of their earlier albums and distill it into a nuanced, widescreen opus. The perennial influences of mid-20th century Western film scores, obscure library music, and psychedelic krautrock are indelibly imprinted, but Chalice Hymnal exudes an eerie patience in unfurling the many layers of its subtle details. Produced by the band over the past five years, Chalice Hymnal bears some of the European psych and experimental hip-hop production techniques of founding members Alex Hall and Emil Amos' other group, Lilacs & Champagne. Amos' meditative metal band, Om, and longtime singer-songwriter project, Holy Sons, also naturally find their way into the Chalice cauldron. Rounding out their leaner line-up, cofounder Zak Riles (also of experimental kraut-psych trio, Watter) layers synths and programming into an electronic-prog hybrid that pushes Grails further into the deep end, displaying a profound resonance, both musically and emotionally. No one else sounds like Grails, and on Chalice Hymnal they sound more like themselves than ever before.) 29.00

LAST NIGHT - friendly fires LP (2nd LP by this great great post-punk band from paris with members of Frustration) 15.00

MIND OVER MIRRORS - Undying Color LP (The new album by the ever-evolving project of Jaime Fennelly is his most ambitious and spellbinding set of roiling, meditative recordings to date, and the first to supplement his foundational arsenal of Indian pedal harmonium, analog synthesizers, and incantatory voices with a full ensemble, including Janet Beveridge Bean (Eleventh Dream Day), Jim Becker (Califone), Haley Fohr (Circuit des Yeux), and Jon Mueller(Death Blues). Undying Color braids folk and formal, praise and play, within its heady swells and troughs, invoking American vernacular musical traditions and pulsating avant-garde electronics alike. With prayerful patience and ceremonial gravity, it conjures and celebrates the cyclical rhythms of nature: tidal surges, human breathing, cicadas in the wilderness gloaming.) 21.00

MOIRE - No Future DLP (ghostly international - When Moiré decided to call his second album No Future, he wasn’t trying to make a political statement so much as state the obvious: If humanity keeps heading down the hateful path outlined by certain right-wing political figures and recent political events, we might as well hit the nearest self-destruct button.) 19.00

MOD VIGIL - same LP (x-mist - A smasher from down under! The debut recordings by this band from Melbourne/Australia, featuring ex-members of KIDS OF ZOO, BAPTIZM OF UZI, and DAMN TERRAN. Combining blistering and distorted frantic Garage-Rock with highly intense Noise-Punk. This slab could somehow be filed right in between TEN VOLT SHOCK and THEE OH SEES (...or any similarly sounding stuff like that). Mastered by Mikey Young – fans of AUSMUTEANTS, CUNTZ, EDDY CURRENT, UV RACE, etc... take note!
10 tracks on vinyl, comes with lyricsheet and download-code included!) 12.00

MOLLY BURCH - Please Be Mine LP  (captured tracks - Molly Burch was exposed to the arts at an early age. Growing up in Los Angeles with a writer/producer father and a casting director mother, Burch's childhood was filled with old Hollywood musicals and the sounds of Patsy Cline, Billie Holiday and Nina Simone. After finding her voice in adolescence, Burch packed up for the University of North Carolina in Asheville to study Jazz Vocal Performance.) 20.00

NO ACTION - s/t LP (sncl - well this has been an awfully long time coming but fortunately it's well worth the wait. australia's no action have dropped the killer emo / punk lp you've been waiting (five years) for. it's one that's for the sncl die hards. those still getting pumped for those weird emo bands that deliver on that rare and perfect combination of melody and drive. you know that there's only 10 bands in the entire world foolish enough to make the kind of music you want to hear, but sncl is just about hanging on by it's finger tips and is putting those records in your hands. no action deliver here with 9 songs that sit comfortably alongside long gone titans like the hated and evergreen. it's a sweet sweet sound and you still need music like this in your life. go get it.) 12.00

PIERRE & BASTIEN - musique grecque LP (sdz - Pierre & Bastien's third studio album, Musique Grecque, shows the band at its best with a well-constructed set of songs. Paul Jimenes's lyrics hold nothing back, juggling private and social subjects brilliantly. Dark and menacing moods chase the light and brighter ones; Once again this fight of the soul puts the listener at the heart of the band's life. Musically, the band is more powerful and intense as ever: guitarist Baptiste Nollet is particularly dazzling and Frédéric Trux pounds sometimes a nearly industrial rhythm to the songs. Their sound has echoes of bands like Wire, Wipers, Dogs, Metal Urbain or Reich Orgasm. The sheer brutality or depraved psychedelics displayed on some tracks contrast with the pop-like vocal harmonies of others. From the minimalist and destructive opener "Sympa" to the dark and disturbing closer "A Nu", from the striking "Secret" to the light "Musique Grecque", Pierre & Bastien have crafted a dense, varied and more-complex-than-it-seems album.) 12.00

REIZ - s/t LP (spastic - peeps of LIBERTY MADNESS, MODERN PETS - catchy post punk as its best) 11.00

RUINED FAMILIES - blank language LP (adagio830 - ltd repress on pink vinyl. repress on pink vinyl ltd to 205 copies After their debut LP and their great 7" from last year - Ruined Families from Athens / greece take another step forward to push themself into a new direction. From the chaotic fast Hardcore they got more and more complex and dark. Mixing up their fast pissed of hardcore with post punk elements and intense song writing. 9 songs of blistering hardcore ... ) 11.00

VERHEERER - archar LP (vendetta - "VERHEERER, a mysterious, clandestine Black Metal project from Flensburg (Germany). Consequently it's not much to discover about it. Therefore I am uncertain if it's a one man project, a band or whatever galactic demon. Frankly, who gives a fuck? Important is “Archar” is high quality Black Metal entertainment. Very diversified in a sense of combining fast, uncompromising and raw Black Metal with a bitter cold atmospheric state of trance. Grim and brutal riffs are skillfully embedded in gloomy melodic passages. Everything highlighted by a great sound, which is a very pleasant balance between professional recording and keeping the nasty stench of those rituals. What I certainly like most about it, is the space which is granted every instrument allowing you to enjoy each little event clearly. The sound and the created atmosphere reminds me of MGLA's “With Hearts Towards None” album, which I admire a lot. And not just the sound also the use of samples and the different variants of his singing style is building bridges to bands like MGLA or PLAGA. Anyhow it's not a cheap copy, not close. “Archar” has its own unique sound effect. I'd say with “Archar” you have a very enjoyable Black Metal record. And as so often this year, dont forget: this is just the first torch burning. Be prepared for the blazing pyres!" voices from the dark side) 13.00

7“

IMPLORE - Thanatos 7“ (wooargh This special 7", entitled "thanatos" (the demon of Greek Mythology), is a blistering, 5 track release born in the flames of a dark passion so intense its practically burned into the surface of the disc. The music is pure and unsullied by commercial interests, the artwork impressive and the sound a wretched, blackened thing that offers no quarter. Extreme and uncompromising.) 5.00

MARK WYNN- 'A Tenner? / I'll Do It Myself'  7“ (beau trival - Contains 5 new songs as a follow-up to the fantastically great LP on HARBINGER SOUND! And this new EP is no less fantastically great!!! He's like the "Patrik Fitzgerald version of the SLEAFORD MODS". Like an English Jacques Dutronc, with the best british sense of humour and irony galore, or (as someone else has put it so aptly) the "King of Brit-Anti-Pop“!) 6.00

THE TIDAL SLEEP / SVALBARD - split 7“ (tcm - two emo heavy weights on one 7“) 6.50

LP

AHMED MALEK & FLAKO - The Electronic Tapes LP (habibi - Unreleased early Algerian synth electronic by Ahmed Malek, compiled and co-produced by Flako. In the early 1980s, Ahmed Malek was already in his 50s , when he discovered synthesizers and electronic music for himself and started to experiment with sounds. The result was a mixture of ambient synth music, field recordings he made in Cuba and a wide variation of different sound experiments that he also presented as different avanguarde music festivals in Cuba and the US. None of it was ever released but we got a huge box of master tapes from his family and we're happy to present this different side of Ahmed Malek's music. It was compiled and co-produced by Flako, a fan of early electronic and synth music. This is not a remix album though, Flako's aim was to create an album out of 2 hours of material that sounds like it might have if Mr. Malek would have finished it himself before of his death. Fully approved and licensed from the artists family. The album comes with an informative booklet with liner notes, an interview with Flako regarding his approach towards the production and unseen photos.) 18.00

ASEETHE - hopes of failure LP (thrill jockey - Aseethe’s unrelenting slow-doom is often compared to drone music because of its core repetitions. This distinctly non-metal approach combined with harsh vocals and unusual samples gives Aseethe a unique voice among metal’s boundary pushers. On Hopes of Failure, the Iowa band’s primary influences of doom and drone share a similar ethos, but rarely do they converge with as much restraint, and patience, drawing on inventive sound sources and distorted, just enough, to add some sludge. Aseethe is the direction that heavy music is moving in.) 18.00

AZAVATAR - s/t LP (Formed in 2013 by former Saeculum Obscurum guitarist AZAVATAR as a solo-project, the selfsame band AZAVATAR features C.A. (Odem Arcarum) on drums, KHOTHRON (Saeculum Obscurum) on vocals, and umbrA (Atrorum, Nebelkrähe) on keys. )16.00

BROKEBACK - Illinois River Valley Blues LP (thrill jockey - A sense of place has been essential to the music of Brokeback since guitarist/bassist Douglas McCombs first launched the project in 1995. Initially conceived as a solo outlet, the Chicago group has taken on new dimensions over the past two decades, morphing from the lean, pastoral ambience of the first album, Field Recordings from the Cook County Water Table, to the more muscular, taut arrangements and dynamic swells of the last release, Brokeback and the Black Rock, for which McCombs assembled a new quartet lineup. Each album develops with exacting detail, revealing McCombs’s gift for dialing in the essence of a mood, feeling, or distant locale with a handful of reverb-laden guitar tones, elegant and sustained, strategically placed and sparingly deployed. The instrumental landscapes he creates on Illinois River Valley Blues are utterly transportive, evoking familiar open-frontier soundtracks and charting out new sonic territory.

CHILD MEADOW - It Hurts LP (dingleberry - Child Meadow is a two piece band from Toulon, France who formed in 2009.  Child Meadow play a late 90's inspired style of hardcore, punk, emo, and screamo.  Since forming in 2009, Child Meadow have released a self-titled five song demo in November of 2009, a five song 7" titled Rad in November of 2010, a twelve song LP titled Crispy BBQ Tofu Burger in November of 2011, and a split LP with Remek in January of 2012.  It Hurts is the band's latest eight song LP which was released on July 9th, 2016 and is expected to be released via IFB, Désertion, Crapoulet, Bus Stop Press, Emotionally Unstable, Dingleberry, La Cellule, Mosh Potatoes, Music For Liberation, Prejudice Me, Ours, Pundonore, and Emergence Records sometime in early 2017.  On It Hurts, Child Meadow offer up eight tracks of discordant and tense sounding hardcore, punk, emo, and screamo.  Overall, It Hurts makes for a killer listen and should not be missed.  Highly recommended!) 11.00

CRANIAL - Dark Towers / Bright Lights LP (moment of collapse - First album by post-metal heavyweight CRANIAL. After their EP 'Dead Ends' the band finally releases an album. Heavy Postmetal, Sludge and Doom! LP version comes in a heavy gatefold cover with a golden pantone print! ) 12.00

ESPLENDOR GEOMETRICO - Fluida Mekaniko DLP (The cult band based in Madrid and Rome, influential industrial pioneers of the pulsating, hypnotic and tribal rhythms since 1980, presents new album: Fluida Mekaniko. Since its previous album "Ultraphoon" (2013), Esplendor Geométrico has performed more frequently than ever during these last two years in different countries and festivals (2016 for the first time in the US and Russia), while there was a documentary feature film about the group launched in Madrid, Geometría del Esplendor, directed by a renowned Spanish director within the avant-garde cinema, José Ramón da Cruz. The film has just been premiered at the prestigious In-Edit festival in Barcelona, receiving an honorary award. Fluida Mekaniko has been recorded during 2016 and contains 12 new tracks that, although they continue the line developed since Pulsión (2009), we also find here references to their most harsh and noisy sound of the 90s. Industrial Neo-tribalism where mechanical rhythms hypnotize, like mantras, inducing the trance. It highlights, already a distinctive feature of E.G., the inclusion of voices and sonorities of African, Arab and Asian music.) 24.00

FAKE OFF - Boréal LP (koepfen - Rad Hardcore/Screamo from France.) 11.00

GULAG BEACH - Apocalyptic Beats LP (phantom - 500 schwarzes Vinyl, DIN A2 Poster
Anspieltipps: Down The Drain, I Drink Alone... Hammerhead, ick hör Dir trapsen." (Tompa / henry fonda)) 13.00

HARAKIRI FOR THE SKY - III: Trauma DLP (Released in 2014, Harakiri for the Sky's Aokigahara reaped widespread critical acclaim for its startling synthesis of skyscraping post-rock textures and emotive black metal fury. Breathtaking and torturous in equal measures, the highwater mark that Aokigahara set has somehow been eclipsed by III: Trauma. Immediately, the album kicks off with an 11-minute epic titled "Calling the Rain," and indeed do Harakiri for the Sky summon forces both natural and supernatural. As the record winds through seven more equally scintillating epics, III: Trauma swells and swirls, crests and crushes, effortlessly dancing between genres with nary an ounce of self-consciousness. Not for nothing is the album titled Trauma: the emotional landscapes the band travail scrape both the direst depths and fleetingly blissful extremes of the human psyche. But, as masterful as the band are at this point, this is not new territory for Harakiri for the Sky; they have been a steady work in progress from the start. Founded in 2011 in Vienna, Austria, the aim of Harakiri for the Sky has always been to create a unique mixture of melancholy and aggression, madness and meaning, and wrapped in alternately manic/mellow songs that bridged black metal and atmospheric post-rock. The band was initially begun as a studio project by erstwhile Bifröst member M. S. joined by vocalist/lyricist J. J., and has recently been expanded to a live lineup. With that lineup secured, Harakiri for the Sky then embarked upon four successful European tours with the likes of A Forest of Stars, Der Weg Einer Freiheit, and Agrypnie among others, encompassing over 20 countries to date. Now prepared to release the masterwork III: Trauma, Harakiri for the Sky will take this volatile-yet-beautiful new concoction on the road for the remainder of 2016: massive sound-walls and the barest of emotions await!) 25.00

HEAVY METAL- Smash Criticism Smash Optimism Smash Arachnophobia LP (static age - The 2nd full album by this Berlin-based band, who released one of the most outstanding Punk albums ("Anti-Music Anti-Sense Anti-You") last year. This new one features 13 more songs, and it's no less as refreshing and ecstatic as the first one. Lots of references could be named for their sound, from WIRE and ATV over URINALS and WEIRDOS to the early FLYING NUN bands... and more than that! But most of all, these guys are representing it with fun, style, a character of their own, and a great sense of (self-)irony.) 12.00

HENRY FONDA - Front Antinational LP  (apocalplexy - With eight years of chaos under their belt, HENRY FONDA has become a steady force in the european DIY hardcore microcosm and has been gaining recognition worldwide from fans of fast, short & extreme music. 'Front Antinational', their 2nd full lenght again takes no prisoners and is a 16 song manifest in under 15 minutes, that combines their love for brutal powerviolence and furious HC/Punk with scramz and sludge pieces thrown into the mix. And since HENRY FONDA has always been a group of friends, who speak about things that pisses them off: 'Front Antinational" is an album that deals with current topics like the rise of racism all over the world, the 'wrong' hardcore, hedonism/escapism and personal issues. 1st press  350g Cover, printed Innersleeves, DIN A1 Poster  800 black ) 13.00

KING WOMAN - Created in the Image of Suffering LP (relapse - San Francisco's KING WOMAN unveil their debut full-length Created In The Image of Suffering, a profoundly crafted opus of brooding, ethereal doom-rock. Led by the hypnotic and breathy vocal dramatics of Kristina Esfandiari, KING WOMAN harness the elastic textures and temporality of drone and metallic shoegaze alongside the transcendental, melancholic power of doom. Recorded with engineer Jack Shirley (Deafheaven, Wreck & Reference, Oathbreaker) at the Atomic Garden, Created In The Image of Suffering's seven compositions evoke rich, gloomy imagery with crumbling washes of blurred, billowing distortion densely layered atop hazy, psychedelic atmospheres that call to mind a surrealistic Black Sabbath fronted by Mazzy Star. Complete with deeply personal, introspective lyrics that serve as catharsis for years of religious and mental torment, KING WOMAN truly suffer to create their art.) 18.00

KING GIZZARD & THE LIZARD WIZARD - Flying Microtonal Banana LP (heavenly - Flying Microtonal Banana is King Gizzard’s first-ever experience in microtonal tuning, which features intervals smaller than a semitone and not found in customary Western tuning octaves. “Earlier this year we started experimenting with a custom microtonal guitar our friend Zak made for (lead singer and guitar player) Stu Mackenzie,” drummer Eric Moore explained. “The guitar was modified to play in 24-TET tuning and could only be played with other microtonal instruments. We ended up giving everyone a budget of $200 to buy instruments and turn them microtonal.”) 18.00

OAKS - The Sun Is Too Brilliant LP (dingleberry - Math / Rock / Emo from Bari, Italy. for fans of: Jealousy Mountain Duo, Cap'n Jazz, Storm & Stress, Piglet) 11.00

PISSED JEANS - Why Love Now LP (Pissed Jeans have been making gnarly noise for 13 years, and on their fifth album, Why Love Now, the male-fronted quartet is taking aim at the mundane discomforts of modern life—from fetish webcams to office-supply deliveries. “Rock bands can retreat to the safety of what rock bands usually sing about. So 60 years from now, when no one has a telephone, bands will be writing songs like, ‘I’m waiting for her to call me on my telephone.’ Kids are going to be like, ‘Grandpa, tell me, what was that?’ I’d rather not shy away from talking about the internet or interactions in 2016,” says frontman Matt Korvette. Pissed Jeans’ gutter-scraped amalgamation of sludge, punk, noise, and bracing wit make the band—Korvette, Brad Fry (guitar), Randy Huth (bass) and Sean McGuinness (drums)—a release valve for a world where absurdity seems in a constant battle trying to outdo itself. Why Love Now picks at the bursting seams that are barely holding 21st-century life together. Take the grinding rave-up “The Bar Is Low,” which, according to Korvette, is “about how every guy seems to be revealing themselves as a shithead. It seems like every guy is getting outed, across every board of entertainment and politics and music. There’s no guy that isn’t a total creep.”) 18.00

SIX ORGANS OF ADMITTANCE - Burning the Threshold LP (drag city - The gentleness found here provides much of what we need for the way forward: love, forgiveness, reality and an ever-wider view, with the understanding of our circular path in life. A powerful draught of musical essence.) 22.00

UNEARTHLY TRANCE - Stalking The Ghost LP (rleapse - New York City sludge/doom/drone trio UNEARTHLY TRANCE re-emerge from the shadows with Stalking the Ghost, their sixth full-length recording and first album in over seven years. An esoteric ritual of seismic doom, Stalking the Ghost taps into the darkest realms of the occult over the course of seven tracks that reek of utter despair. Forming a balance between slow-churning maelstrom and spine-chilling harmony, wrapped beneath a blackened cloud of rumbling feedback, UNEARTHLY TRANCE sound more powerful and exploratory than ever before. Recorded at Menegroth/The Thousand Caves Studios by Colin Marston (Krallice, Gorguts, Panopticon) and featuring cover art by Orion Landau (YOB, Red Fang, Graves At Sea), Stalking the Ghost restores misery to a gentrifying city.) 18.00

VUKARI - matriarch LP (vendetta - "Ambient black metal, post-rock duo Vukari have released Matriarch, a concept album about a “Slavic slave girl who is bought by a Germanic lord who promises her freedom and prosperity”, and while the concept sounds depressing, the album is an introspective, uplifting wall of sound that washes over the listener with texture and panache. Matriarch is filled with instrumental bits that take form in many different palettes; swaths of color blend from each instrument — whether it be the vocals, drums, guitars, or keyboard. There are parts which build up the intensity only to fall in the form of post-rock bliss; minute long tracks that break the harshness. Matriarch is another album that is breaking conventions of US black metal — utilizing ambient post-rock qualities to bring a sound together is something the US is known for in this genre, and, while other acts have their own agendas about black metal, Vukari is capable of paying homage to acts like Darkthrone, although Vukari shows more upswings of emotional range than down-in-the-dirt, wretched black metal. ... ) 13.00

YURODIVY - Aphos LP (wooagh - French chaotic hardcore band YURODIVY share their incredibly intense debut album, a whirlwind of chaos, varying emotions and thoughts.) 13.00

WOLFENSTEIN - Staedter LP (woaargh - WØLFENSTEIN is a four-piece hardcore band from Stuttgart Germany.  Their new album, Staedter, is a concept album based on a poem by Alfred Wolfenstein. It deals with the perspectives of several different people living in a metropolis and their resulting feelings of isolation, hopelessness and loneliness despite being constantly surrounded by thousands of other people.  True to the genre, this is all told in a fast and noisy fashion.  Staedter is nothing if not an aggressive punch to the gut and knee to the nose.  The 30 minutes fly by in a series of short, abrasive tracks broken up by a few sludgier moments.  Among my favorites are "Wolves at my Doorstep," "Zweiter Teil In den Staub," and "Klamm."  Excellent album for fans of groups like The Chariot, though the intro to "A Sort of Escapism" actually reminds me of The Haunted. (Metal Trenches)) 13.00

YITH - dread LP (vendetta - "Dread seems to be an appropriate title for Yith’s new record as that is the feeling that you get when listening. You get that feeling of dread right before you are lowered into the cold damp ground. Yith plays a blasphemous brand of blackened doom and they do a great job of mixing the two together giving both genres plenty of room to breath and shine on their own when it’s needed and more often than not both doom and black metal shine through together to create an unholy and terrifying sound. With both doom and black metal the sound that is created is one that is dense, raw, dark and unforgiving and once you press play you get surrounded in abysmal clouds of darkness. Throughout this release and throughout each song, Yith does a great job of creating a bleak atmosphere that encapsulates you. The atmosphere that they create is one that is dismal, unforgiving and leaves you feeling isolated and not only that but there is a certain quality about it that draws you in even more. As dark and twisted as it is it is mesmerizing all the same and if the music itself doesn’t hook you and keep you along for the ride the atmosphere certainly will. Yith takes advantage of their longer run times as well which gives them more time to grab a hold of you and provide you with a dark and ever looming listen.  Each of the seven songs on this record are well crafted )14.00

V/A - BONEHEAD FREAKS LP  (belter - 14 Ferocious Crunchers and Visceral Heavy Thudders Excavated from the Doldrums of the North American Suburban Wilderness Belter Records, lim. 300 copies So we are  finally back under the Bonehead banner still crunching and ultimate but no longer bound to any notion of a future series. We have come not only to praise Bonehead but to bury it at the same time. Herein you will  find an abundance of heavy Psych monstrosities, numbskull shredders and dastardly inducements to follow Satan or in once instance, his direct opposite... It’s loud, proud and hopefully great fun to enjoy while you attempt to keep control of your bladder functions.) 22.00

V/A - GREASED BUCKSKIN BELTERS LP  (belter - 14 High-Octane and Frenzied Tales of Boozed-up Hicks, Drop-outs and Skunks syphoned from Various North American Oil Dumps of Ill-repute Belter Records, lim. 300 copies We’ve been rampaging around the Midwest and obscure nooks and crannies of North America to uncover a selection of frenetic screamers and high velocity tales of hellraising and beer swilling with fast driving stoners trying to catch even faster moving girls. It’s rural more by location than by sound, there is no country here, but if you can imagine a Rockabilly outgrowth updated through a grinder operated by Keith Richards and Rob Tyner, you would be on the right track. This isn’t heavy in a Bonehead sense, but this LP merges Rock n Roll, late Garage and budding Proto Punk in an endless orgy of high energy routed stupidity. Contents are mainly from the late 60s to early 70s, so if you like Flamingo- era Groovies or ever wanted to hear a more rural MC5, this one is for you!) 22.00
