Re: The Official La Quiete/Catena response topic!

i felt like crying when i got home sad

Re: The Official La Quiete/Catena response topic!

i was so emotional on monday after the manchester show. we were all just hugging the bands

and each other. then when we were outside waiting around for dan, i think? the singer from CC appeared and started hugging us all again. I'm devastated

it's over. We're just gonna have to party as hard when funeral diner come over.. also the drummer from LQ said he's hoping to come over with Raein

sometime this year  8)  i can sense more carnage! but yeah, we should try make funeral diner memorable.

love.

Why I hate going

to London shows...

They only place I know that anybody who watched La Quiete and Catena Collapse DIDN'T have a good time.

It makes me a little

sad to be honest. Sure, not everybody has to like them, but to dismiss a band so passionate and into what they are doing as 'screamy bollocks' leaves a

very bitter taste in my mouth.

Re: The Official La Quiete/Catena response topic!

bunch of miserable gits, probably listen to music thats just as rubbish as what we do! if

not worse!

Re: The Official La Quiete/Catena response topic!

They're all goons.

I'm not into that.

Re: The Official La Quiete/Catena response topic!

still, living in london can't help matters much. its surely enough to turn the even the

most happy go lucky person into the most hardened and bitter cyncic.

Re: The Official La Quiete/Catena response topic!

i found myself smiling all night last night, i like The Swan, Abandon Ship were amazing, CC

were pretty cool, and LQ were great. I'm old and not too jaded yet.

Question: How much of it is down to this website that their tour has been a

success? It seems that both the bands have had a really good time and most of the crowds have been into it. I know the promoters in each town have done quite

a bit of work, but there seems to of been something extra going on.

like i said to Kjetil, i think certain

group of nerds from the uk always try to travel along with touring emo end of punk type bands which makes them feel welcome and are always there to give them

props each time they play, im proud to be one of them!

Re: The Official La Quiete/Catena response topic!

without folks travelling there'd of been about 3 people in notts i think, but i suppose its

like the pine (what happened to them?) thing over again isnt it

I'm not singing for the future
I'm not dreaming of the past
I'm not talking of the first time
I never think about the last

Re: The Official La Quiete/Catena response topic!

Doesn't really do many favours up in Scotland. There's only about five or six tartan C-Zs.

I think after summerslam this was kinda on the cards...

Oh yeah, and why just not send anymore good bands to London? Place Fucking sucks for shows

anyway.

yeah, good point! and the pine have another 100 records out this year. smile well, at least 3.

there is closeknit community that has gathered on this site that seems to be really open to going that extra

mile (or 300) to see bands they love play and meet people they talk to most days on the internet. its a weird kind of organisation and concept, it bewilders

me really!

Re: The Official La Quiete/Catena response topic!

me

too!

it made it special. i think they really appreciated it too. i loved every minute of it, it gave me the chance to meet loads of new people and

meet the bands. as i said we all found it hard to say bye at the manchester show on monday. i think the CC and LQ were bewildered

I hope the same

happens for Funeral Diner and stuff. Last weekend was really fucking fantastic. But yeah, I reckon it was down to this board. It was mostly the people from

leeds house show that travcelled to notts. no-one else seemed as into it. i think loads of people left after earlier bands?

Re: The Official La Quiete/Catena response topic!

I want to go to Summerslam too. Can't find an address.... Anyone up for it?  lol

I like travelling to see bands. It feels worthwhile and meeting so many different people is what music is all about

cool thing is its not some kind of club, its just kids who find this site from the

articles and join the forums to chat about DIY punk/hardcore/indie  and general music/politics.. the uk scene is small.. so most people have mutal contacts,

we end up having places to crash, ways of travelling etc, so it all comes together like a big party! i think its ace, its a great environment for art to be

created and push the scene on

I don't really agree with this, but then I only live in London.

What I like about this site (and yes, let's

make it some form of back slap fest), is that it has varied tastes. For instance, the Tower Recordings LP that was reviewed a month or so back is the best

record I've bought in ages and that is not emo in any sense. The other "PUNK ROCK" sites are a touch more strict. I dunno, at the moment things seem

good.
