Re: Diesel vs Steam

i saw them in leicester, they were really good. they had some member connection to bob tilton, but they didn't really sound like them (unless you're talking the final lp), i think they were instrumental. if they ever did release something, it is probably on a tape that you can only buy if you prove you have lived in that weird part of leeds where all these bands come from for at least 10 years.

Re: Diesel vs Steam

i will live in ls6 one day, ill rule supreme.

Re: Diesel vs Steam

In June I'm moving from LS3 back to LS6 (although the postcode thing is a bit daft really, LS6 just cranks up your car insurance). It rules, you will have so much fun. BUT you will get mugged and you WILL have your car nicked/broken into and almost certainly your house too.

The only reason all those arty types have survived in the 'six for so long is because they only own vinyl, and the crims can't sell it.

heresy is another word for freedom of thought

Re: Diesel vs Steam

i lived in ls6 for 3 years and would be quite happy never to go back......   smile

Re: Diesel vs Steam

What part of Leeds is ls6?

Re: Diesel vs Steam

hyde park and headingly

Re: Diesel vs Steam

Im living in Headingly next year i believe. Lucky me  :?

Re: Diesel vs Steam

hyde park mainly

ive lived here for a while now and never had any trouble with muggings, break ins, etc. it looks pretty grotty and there is annoying little scallies causing trouble everywhere. but thats no different to most places!

i think its ace

Re: Diesel vs Steam

headingley is fine. but its severe studentville (more so than hyde park). and more expensive... so the richer students live there!

I live on the only street without students in Headingley I think - thank the lord!

Re: Diesel vs Steam

your best bet is to put a message up on:

http://www.copsandrobbers.net

i think at least one of the members looks/posts on the message board there.

Re: Diesel vs Steam

as i posted earlier, they were not an emo band.

Re: Diesel vs Steam

they might be, the guitars might be signing about broken hearts and empty bottles... in their own chord language way  smile

Re: Diesel vs Steam

yes but are there any mp3's?

Re: Diesel vs Steam

i missed the rest of this conversation, but i live in LS6 and have so far had no problems whatsoever.  Its only been 3 months so far though..

Re: Diesel vs Steam

andrew raine of brown owl http://www.chinchillaweb.co.uk/brownowl was the guitar player of diesel vs steam.

they recorded a demo with mark simms, which i had on cdr and on my computer, till my old computer set itself on fire. i can't remember where my cd is, i probably gave it to someone and then when my pc died i lost my version of it... we were talking about this the other day... none of the band have a copy of the songs, although the original reel recordings are still sat in jon nash's house from when mark simms used to live there. i have one long shot as to who might have my cdr, but that will have been from years ago, so it's also a long shot as to whether said person still has the cdr! if either the band or i get hold of the recordings again we agreed to put them online for people to listen to, but don't hold your breath.

it's not entertainment it's just distraction is a noun in the thesaurus synonym for entertainment, amusement and diversion. diversion from our lack of humanity it's not rock & roll, it's just plain rude

Re: Diesel vs Steam

my housemate has a cd copy of the diesel vs steam recordings
