Boroughs come roaring out the gates straight away with some nicely scattershot, atonal, downtuned harshness. The short, sketch-like songs flail about in a nicely chaotic manner with an element of humanity to proceedings that is so often missing from this kind of thing. While these short outbursts never get the chance to outstay their welcome individually, the overall effect is mighty.

Falter are from Kill-waukee. That's my hilarious pun, not theirs, and while I'm sure they could have come up with it, there is not much room for lightness and humour in their brand of mercilessly heavy powerviolence that sometimes gives way to some seriously chunky slow bits. This sounds genuinely angry even in this day and age, and their more straight-up style is a good counterpoint to Boroughs'.

Two different bands that complement each other nicely then. A thoroughly decent little split record.
