Blood Drugs play a vaguely awkward brand of noise-rock-cum-post-hardcore that I initially didn't know where to place. After much musing, I now think it's what 'Tiger Mask' might've sounded like if Rocket From The Crypt had taken a few cues from the heftier bands on the Dope-Guns-'N-Fucking In The Streets series; or maybe how the first QOTSA LP would've turned out if Janitor Joe had played a part in its creation. If these comparisons are too niche and too subjective then you have my apologies - to clarify, I'll just leave by saying it's basically a taut, gravelly noise-rock album that's not too shy to show off the odd poppy hook. Interesting, f'sure, and also pretty solid with it.
