Barghest are a bit of a known quantity to me (and not just as a monstrous dog from D&D) via a split with Thou and releases on Gilead Media, and it's good to hear that they're still at it and coming up with the goods. Black metal is the name of the game here with echoing-in-a-church vocals, relentless drums and shredded guitars, but there's plenty of DIY inspired punk grit and a bit of space to allow catchy riffs to dominate.

Teeth provide a mammoth 23-minute track here but really it's a series of passages running the gamut from post- to death- to black- metal that phase from one to another, sometimes intertwining and often getting right in your face. Maybe because of its schizo-phonic nature it doesn't get boring at any point.

There's a lot of this kind of thing out there at the moment but this really stands out as something special. Good work all round.
