I have reviewed so many Graham Repulski releases over the years that I can't really distinguish them anymore. It kind of all blends in together. That's a negative thing really. Whilst I have enjoyed his music, there is just so much of it with a significant variance in quality. The 'My Color Is Red' 7'' remains my favourite, when I first stumbled across the band via the records available to review on CZ. I have always felt they have sounded better over a short listen. The longer records just tend to lose the plot as they progress.

Permission To Love is in between these two lengths, since it is seven songs. It is a fairly normal recording, more Guided by Voices than experimental. It doesn't hit any particular heights so you've gotta be really into the band to invest in this. The start of 'I'd Buy That For A Dollar' is great but then it dissipates. I dunno, maybe saturation and my more recent fondness for liquid drum and bass has stopped me appreciating this as much as I used to.
