This is awesome! This 12Ē has got one Boom Bip track and remixes by the awesome Venetian Snares, Boards Of Canada and cLOUDEAD.

The Boom Bip track is much less hip-hop than some of the moments on the cd and also a lot less chilled. It still retains a really nice melodic undercurrent but the punishing hip-hop crunch of a beat beats you into submission like Phil Mitchell in a brutal rage! I prefer this to nearly all the tracks off the full length, itís a lot less commercial and a lot more interesting! I should have gone to see them really.

The Boards Of Canada cut shows them develop their perfect chill-out electronica even more. This track doesnít really stand out as being the best on the 12Ē but itís a pleasant listen (which is what Im after right now due to the brutality of last night).

Venetian Snares (featuring Buck 65) do a great fucking cut up of a Boom Bip track, its dead jungle but at the same time the hip-hop element of the original shines through a little. I would have liked it to have been a bit darker but its pretty dark already! Im not sure if I think the vocals add to this track though but as it stands this track is fucking great!

The cLOUDEAD tune is much spacier than anything else on this record and it sounds brilliant. Its great to hear new takes on hip hop, from artists like Dizzee Rascal bridging garage and hip hop to jokers like MC Pitman to something so off the wall and original as this. It sounds so much more electronic but doesnít fall into the trap of being mechanical, its just beautiful and could almost be a lifted track from the Aerial M remix lp.

Definitely worth a fiver!
