Chopper have grown on me somewhat since I heard their For Youth And Valour EP some time back. Take frantic pop-punk with strained, emotional vocals and you pretty much have the sound of Chopper. 'Blandford' and 'Kitty O'Sheas' are not immediate but once they sink in you can fully appreciate the good quality pop-punk of Chopper. While these two tracks don't astound they are certainly worthy of your attention.

Japanese punk cohorts Blew contribute two tracks as well. I've heard the first song, 'Atmosphere', before - I think its on one of Andy's cash depleting compilation tapes that I've got lying around somewhere. This version is different however : its both rougher and faster which I think helps the song because it certainly sounds way better than the version I have on tape! Just listening to this song now really makes me want to see this band play live some time soon... 'Red Hair Girl' is no less as impressive. The same distinctive vocals which would be indecipherable without the sleeve lyrics but a slower pace to the song. Yeah, Blew are great.

Crackle do the business again with a cracking split 7".
