Picked this up at their gig in Leeds. I was so impressed with Douglas on the night that I just couldn't resist getting this. And I'm glad I did, because its really good.

This is great UK punk and reminds me of Turtlehead, Vanilla Pod and Chopper, while some of their slower moments are more reminiscent of Annalise and their melodic-hardcore sound. Our regular readership (?!?!) will know that we Collective kids love these bands. So would Douglas' debut album impress me as much as the aforementioned bands?

Well I am glad to say that yes it did. The packaging looks really impressive and very professional. The inlay looks wicked too. And the music is super-neat. Melodic punk that bounces you around and shakes you up, throughout its thirty eight minute duration. Stand out track "Four a.m." is particularly impressive and is reminiscent of Turtlehead. While "Skip" and "0891" are much more poppy and spring alive with their catchy and youthful sound. And "Time to Leave" just sounds really beautiful.

More melodic punk is served up in the form of "Slouch" and "Boxcar" (a Jawbreaker cover). And I have heard other people describe them as sounding a bit like Jawbreaker, so I guess I have just used this much over used band comparison yet again. Top song "Incomplete" is a slower number and it kinda sounds a bit emotional. In fact this could almost be a Lovemen song.

Hey this is great! It gets better and better every time I listen to it. You need to own this so much. If you dig melodic and thoughtful punk-rock songs then do yourself a favour and search this little gem out....
