Reissue of two wicked tracks as part of the 'in the beginning there was rhythm' compilation. Bit weird that Soul Jazz put this out seein' as none of their output was anything like any of the bands on the compilation but hey, I'm not complaining!

First off! The Human league track..you should really have this track. You can get their shit for 50p from any 2nd hand shop, charity shop or car boot. This track "being boiled" is a pretty famous one, dark bleepy electronic new wave. It's not really punk, but its more punk than nearly everthing else they did. The lyrics could be some metal hardcore bands lyrics though!

"you may slice with no conviction blind revenge on blameless victims"

If you're interested with the current electro-clash thing you might wanna check this out, its better than most stuff imitating this at the moment thats for sure!

The 2nd side holds a fucking great song by a great band (well most of their stuff was!). Totally danceable funk punk, imagine what !!! would sound like doing Joy Division (in the punker days) songs. This is such a good disco track, I might play it if I ever dj.

It might be best to get the full compilation though because with that you get one of my favourite songs of all time (Pop Groups: she is beyond good and evil) as well as great tracks by gang of four, throbbing gristle, the slits etc

But if yr just curious and dont wanna fork out for a full length I'd recommend this.
