Bathtub Shitter = Japan’s prolific (though not as much as Unholy Grave of course), long-running hardcore band that slip into some good old sloppy grind on occasion whilst still being thoroughly and unhealthily obsessed with shit, the process of shitting and the consequences of that same shitting process.

Tumult = home to sweetly packaged missives from Harvey Milk, Burmese, Weakling, 7000 Dying Rats, Skullflower, Brainbombs, Like A Kind Of Matador and many other outsider trailblazers.

Format = a cute 3” CD containing 3 songs, one showcasing the vocalist’s ludicrously sudden shifts between high-pitched yelping and guttural lung scrapes (or it may just be two different people singing now that I think about it), one Christmas-themed number named “Holy Shit” and a cover of “Little Drummer Boy” which ranks up there with the David Bowie / Bing Crosby version. Seriously.

Result = Merry shitting Christmas. And a shitty new year too.
