This lumpen, plodding crap is touted as "Yoko Ono fronting Khanate". First off, has Yoko Ono actually done anything of musical worth (apart from John Lennon)? Secondly, is the statement simply a crass reference to the fact that the singer is of Asian descent and not a bloke? Clearly it doesn't take much to generate buzz in the white, male, 19-25 demographically dominated rock world. Thirdly, and most importantly, this lot aren't fit to lick Khanate's boots. Slow for slow's sake can be alright if you have something to back it up (usually memorable melodics), but this shallow noisery contains none of the hidden depths of an album like "Things Viral", none of the wormhole nastiness of a band like Otesanek. When she screams, the singer sounds good, but when she goes for otherworldly, ethereal chanting (as she does much of the time), it's straight-up excruciating goth guff. Most disappointing.
