A horrible hack

Another Release the Bats release featuring bands I have never heard of. This is partly what makes this label so interesting now days. I guess this one could easily be labeled as noise, and to me thats exactly what Orphan Fairytale sounds like. Layered sounds that build a landscape that does nothing for me at all. Even though it’s short I get bored and thats never a good thing. On the flip side Pocahaunted do a much better job. It starts out quietly and quickly catches my attention and they build around this adding more and more layers making it a beautiful little piece. Some vocal sounds and a distant drum getting more and more present, makes the song heavier as we float towards the end. Leaves me wanting for more and I guess I'll have to get my hands on more stuff by them. Well worth it for the Pocahaunted side, but I’m quite sure I will never listen to the Orphan side ever again.
