Grazes are a band from Sheffield/Middlesborough, are influenced by the likes of Swing Kids and Black Flag and this is their demo cassette. 4 tracks here and it's a bit of a mixed affair. I really quite like the songs 'A Kestrel for a Knave' and 'Grand Guignol'; I mean, this band is a work in progress, but those two are definitely worth your time I reckon. 'Cotard's Delusion' is a bit so-so but not bad at all; it's just 'Tash Up' which I didn't get on with (and that was before I read the lyrics to it...). There's what sounds worryingly like group chants during the middle of the song and this completely threw me off. It just doesn't seem to have the same sort of dynamics as the other 3 songs. The cassette comes with some quite nice artwork and a little picture of the band etc. I swear, the guy wearing the Sting t-shirt, you're my hero. So yeah, not a bad effort at all bar that one glitch-ridden song. Rough punk from young chaps. Brill.
