This arrived today in the post from sncl and I can't help but write a few quick words. Lo-fi indie rock is an absolute delight when done properly, something that only really clicked in my head a few years ago, and Beach Fossils and Wild Nothing have both led the way in recent times at conjuring a somewhat unique semi-poppy version of it that borders on perfection. The title track on this new 7'' is pretty much as good as it gets: the production, the jangly riffs of one guitar with the other instruments further in the background yet still very essential, and the soft but perfect vocals. Yes, I said the word perfect again, because this is it. Check out the new Wild Nothing 7'' too; both EPs are presumably the glimmer of new full lengths on the horizon.
