I received a free download to this record (also released as a 7'') upon buying some Late Bloomer tapes from Self Aware. I almost threw it in the bin after seeing that one of the bands on it was called Andy The Doorbum, but I'm glad I didn't. Each band plows through two songs with Yardwork up first; they play a nice style of indie rock: the groove is in full flow and there's some really good guitar work. I like the vocals, sort of like a less distorted version of Graham Repulski on the first song, more simple on the second track but well sung. I think the reason it works so well is that it has an ever so slight Party Of Helicopters vibe going on; you never really know what's coming next and the music feels like it's coming apart, only to be pulled back together.

Now then, Andy The Doorbum. Playing a sort of folk music that lots of people into punk try. Usually it's simple chords and passionate vocals but when Neutral Milk Hotel exists it tends to be redundant. But, away with my negativity! Andy's voice is pretty damn good and I am impressed. The first song 'Medicamentum' has a real mellow feel, good accompaniment on instruments and vocals. It's excellent actually. The second song doesn't quite live up to the first and I see myself skipping to the end before playing Medicamentum again. This has a lot of promise.
