I am not quite sure that a 4 band split 7Ē is the kind of thing I am after in 2012, bands being better individually sampled on the interwebs and whatnot, but perhaps these guys are super good buddies or tour together or something, in which case it makes perfect sense.

This is the first time I have heard Bonjour and they make a really solid slice of emotional indie rock. Itís somewhere between Braid, with itís pleasant guitar twiddling, and Sundayís Best with itís big blasting melodies. Thatís a good combo from my point of view. They are sprinkling in a bit of screaming, but not too much, and it works well. This is my favourite song on the comp.

Invalids are super twiddly, a bit too much for my tastes, and they merge this with some cheesey pop punk sounds. Fairly safe to say this is not really my thing Iím afraid.

Nai Harvest have played a bunch of shows but I havenít caught them to date so I had no preconceptions. They ply some verge of tears Ďmo here, very much in the early Spy vs Spy kind of ball park of pretty Braid style guitars and wrought vocals. Nice stuff.

Reno Dakota I have reviewed on here and caught live. They deal in urgent stop-starty riffs that are again not too far from Spy vs Spy, but this is much more complex and jazzy than Nai Harvest. Itís perhaps a bit over fiddly for my tastes but if youíre into a less direct approach from your Ďmo, this should fit the bill for you.
